If you wish, say a prayer for Jesse and his family as his wife has passed after a long illness.
Guest Post by Jesse
May the Lord support us all the day long,
until the shadows lengthen,
and the evening comes,
and the busy world is hushed,
and the fever of life is over,
and our work is done.
Then in your mercy,
grant us a safe lodging, and a holy rest,
and peace at the last.
John Henry Newman
Out of the images and the shadows into the light.
I will not be updating or answering emails for a little while.
See you the week of September 11 perhaps.
Good Luck Jesse,
Sorry for your loss. May friends and family
know to visit and give you a hug and a kiss.
I posted a link to the Getty’s rendition of In Christ Alone, but decided to come back and just say I am sorry for your loss and glad she is at peace.
Please accept my condolences, Jesse. May your family, friends, and faith comfort you at this time.
The loss of any decent person is a loss to us all. May the peace which transcends all pain be upon you and yours until your own passing in the far future.
Because I could not stop for Death –
He kindly stopped for me –
The Carriage held but just Ourselves –
And Immortality.
We slowly drove – He knew no haste
And I had put away
My labor and my leisure too,
For His Civility –
We passed the School, where Children strove
At Recess – in the Ring –
We passed the Fields of Gazing Grain –
We passed the Setting Sun –
Or rather – He passed Us –
The Dews drew quivering and Chill –
For only Gossamer, my Gown –
My Tippet – only Tulle –
We paused before a House that seemed
A Swelling of the Ground –
The Roof was scarcely visible –
The Cornice – in the Ground –
Since then – ’tis Centuries – and yet
Feels shorter than the Day
I first surmised the Horses’ Heads
Were toward Eternity –
Emily Dickinson
…may perpetual light shine upon her.

When I go don’t cry for me
In my father’s arms I’ll be
The wounds this world left on my soul
Will all be healed and I’ll be whole
Sun and moon will be replaced
With the light of Jesus’ face
And I will not be ashamed
For my savior knows my name
It don’t matter where you bury me
I’ll be home and I’ll be free
It don’t matter where I lay
All my tears be washed away
Gold and silver blind the eye
Temporary riches lie
Come and eat from heaven’s store
Come and drink and thirst no more
So weep not for me my friend
When my time below does end
For my life belongs to him
Who will raise the dead again
It don’t matter where you bury me
I’ll be home and I’ll be free
It don’t matter where I lay
All my tears be washed away
Worthy is the lamb Almighty God!

Jesse your wife is at holy peace knowing full well all of you are in Gods holy embrace…
To our dear Jesse and his family,
May the Lord hold you and yours in the hollow of his hands.
Your grief is shared for the woman you clearly loved and adored.
Time… is what we have too little of and that makes it more precious than Gold.
To every thing there is a season,
and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate;
A time of war, and a time of peace.
There is a custom that involves having people sit silently with you as a means of support. Nothing should be said, unless you speak first as an invitation to conversation.
It’s very comforting and some people just seem to know how to do this by instinct.
May the Lord surround you with the kind of people you need the most at this very trying time.
God be with you and your Queen..peace…She is riding the Gospel Ship to Heaven’s Jubilee..
