#Take the Knee

Guest Post by Jim Kunstler

There’s a lot to complain about in this deranged Republic — if it even still is one — but the burdens of being a multimillionaire football player would not be at the top of my list. Personally, I find it a little peculiar that we have to play the national anthem before any sporting event. All it really shows is how insecure we are as a nation that we have to display our love of country in this obsessive manner. Same with congressmen and their stupid flag lapel pins, or the flag in front of Denny’s chain restaurant. Are eaters of the “lumberjack slam” so disoriented when they leave the place that they need to be reminded what country they’re in? “Oh, look hon, were in the USA after all….”

What burns my ass is seeing baseball players in camo uniforms, as if they were an extension of the US military. What’s up with that? Is San Diego suddenly a theater of war? And why do US soldiers need to wear camo uniforms when shopping for eyeglasses? There used to be a distinction between battle dress and what you wore the rest of the time, even during a world war. And why on earth is it necessary to fly Air Force fighter jets over the stadium before the Super Bowl? Who authorizes the spend for that? Who are we trying to scare?

Of course, this new gale of ill-feeling stirred up by our intemperate president, the Golden Golem of Greatness, is driven by the oceanic currents of racial animus that are drowning the country more ruinously than the recent spate of hurricanes. The #Take the Knee campaign was already there, and getting hotter, even before Mr. Trump chimed in. At least he didn’t issue the usual sort of vapid nostrum about “diversity” and all of us getting along. In his blunt, blundering way, he may force the nation to clarify exactly what the beef is.

Surely it’s not about the woes of professional athletes. They are representing the grievances of a different realm in black America, perhaps the places they came from, the city ghettos or the rural backwaters of Dixieland, or maybe even boring black suburbs like Prince George County, Maryland. And the lingering question, to be equally blunt, is: how much is non-black America keeping black America down?

I say non-black because there are plenty of other ethnic groups in the mix besides the dwindling majority of “white folks.” I daresay there is as much, perhaps more real animus between Asian-Americans and black Americans than between white and black. But Asian-Americans did not enslave black Africans, so they’re off-the-hook for that original sin.

Mostly what Asian newcomers do is demonstrate that it’s possible to succeed economically and educationally even if you start out in this country with a culture and language completely alien to American ways. This is especially noticeable in places of exacting achievement like Silicon Valley. If anything, Asians complain that they do so well in school that the universities have to tamp down their admission numbers to give other ethnic groups a chance.

There seems to be so much psychological displacement in the feelings between black and white America that it is next to impossible to sort out what to do next. White Dem-Progs (formerly “liberals”) appear to be so consumed with anxious consternation over the outcome of the long civil rights struggle that they are ready to commit a sort of hara-kiri to atone for their unforgivable cis-whiteness. To some extent, they have attempted to compensate by campaigning for an ever-growing list of other “marginalized” groups in the hopes of showing some positive results for social change — it’s just easier to get significant numbers of homosexuals into the corporate executive suites than to get blacks in there — but the Dem-Progs are still left with the grinding reality of a large, dysfunctional black underclass. They certainly can’t admit that their own contrived “remedies,” such as subsidizing out-of-wedlock births, has anything to do with it, or the devastating effect of “Multiculturalism” on some sort of unifying common culture based on values that everybody can agree on.

Similarly, black America displaces their oppositionality to whatever remains of a national common culture into the memes of “systemic racism and injustice.” It has evolved insidiously in their own culture since the 1960s, probably (I believe) as a reaction to the anxiety provoked by the civil rights legislation of 1964-65. It’s really about behavior, especially in school. Are you interested in speaking English? Believe me, that would help a lot in this society. Consider this: Ella Fitzgerald was not singing black or white back in the day. She was just singing.

Perfect example of the tone deaf trying to review the performance of the orchestra.

It is a tradition, that’s all. After a half century of historical cleansing, it doesn’t surprise me that JHK misses this point, he doesn’t strike me as a fan of masculine pursuits so I don’t fault him for overlooking the obvious in favor of the obscure. Some traditions persist long after their function has ceased relevance.

Singing the National Anthem is comparable to phantom limb syndrome in an amputee. It reminds us of what was once there, but nothing more.

America, as in the United States of, is a thing of the past. What most people miss in this recent flare-up of emotionalism on both sides is the deeper purpose. This is organized and scripted, a well planned strategy with a definitive end game. It is almost prosaic that they’ve chosen a game of strategy as their means of beating the game itself.

Years ago when my son played football in high school I tried to get interested in it because he was. We watched games together, discussed strategy, that kind of thing. I had no love for the game, no real connection to it because I long ago gave up participation in spectacles understanding them for what they were- herd behaviors. I remember telling him then, maybe 2010, that the end game was the destruction of the NFL because of what it represented- masculine behavior that served as a proxy for warfare. Just as the military was being deliberately hollowed out by the Globalists in DC in order to prop up their Narrative, so too was the NFL; pink socks, openly gay players, racial divisions, etc. These people are being used to further emasculate and alienate the surviving remnant of masculine tradition from it’s connection to the people. Because certain elements of the sport tend to represent a specific ethnic block that is easily manipulated, especially by emotional connections to things that have nothing to do with football itself, they are now deliberately being targeted to drive a final wedge into the financial heart of the NFL. Just like they’ve done with ESPN. Just like they did with academia, just as they are doing with STEM, etc.

The end goal isn’t to promote justice, it isn’t to entertain or give the people what they want, it’s to do the same thing to the USA that McBain Capital does to it’s buyouts- gut it for whatever wealth can be extracted and leave the rotting hulk to decay.

Don’t get sucked into the false Patriotism v. Racial Grievance paradigm because that has zero to do with this issue other than to serve as a window dressing.

I’ll be glad when this ubiquitously stupid non-news story gets quickly replaced with the next stupid non-news story, which will hopefully be less stupid than whether NFL players are are standing or kneeling.

I could make some suggestions for real news that needs to be covered:

Most of the Caribbean has been destroyed by a series of hurricanes, the evil Angela Merkel has just been re-elected, the US dollar is no longer a required currency for buying petrol, phantom transgender zombies are being carefully cultivated in the public schools at taxpayers expense, and the price of decent cheese is exorbitant.

Notice how he tiptoes around the most fundamental aspect of the racial divide, namely, human biodiversity. Blacks and whites are not actually different species, since they can interbreed (unfortunately), but they might as well be. Africans evolved genetically and culturally in an environment that selected for physical strength and skill; intellect and the ability to foresee results of action took a back seat.

Kunstler sometimes seems almost to recognize HBD’s role in the racial disaster, but like so many recovering leftists, pulls back. Here he goes again: “It’s really about behavior, especially in school.” Most blacks belong to a “dysfunctional underclass.” Yes, but why do they so often behave badly in school? Why do they form a dysfunctional underclass?

Come on, Mr. Kunstler. You can figure it out if you let yourself.

Excellent
Since it’s not really about extracting more priviledge from whites since that still leaves the whites in power. Vis a vis handing it out.
It’s obviously all about complete and total power
This is my child’s future?

For the morons who waste their money and time watching these games – listening to the national anthem / singing God Bless America – that may be the only time that they stop and reflect – about anything.

There’s nothing wrong with tradition – otherwise there is nothing.

There is nothing wrong with watching sports. Give me a break. So, is there something wrong with playing sports?

Mixing militarism and sports pisses me off as well, especially at the collegiate level.

The TV died as a result of electron stimulation via lightning strike to the power lines.
Best think that has happen to me since the wife left some years ago.
I go to bed earlier, rise earlier and get more done around the, ‘Green Acres.’
Cannot stand the radio sports commercials so I do not listen.
What was Kuntsler talking about, sometimes he baffles me.

“take the knee” and then . . . blow me. Perhaps a little more “satisfying” than what you semi-literate/functionals are currently “doing”.

I wonder what would happen if we all just ignored them. Completely. The petulant little overpaid twats would try something else for attention? Fuck ’em. Fire every last one of them. Or dont. Vote with your wallet if it bugs you. Or dont. They could make a whole new division or two. It could be like shirts against skins… standers against kneelers.

Personally none of this affects me in any way, so other than the nonstop shitstorm about it that’s distracting all of youze guys from the REAL problems this week, it means nothing. Nada. Zip. Keep your eye on the… Is that a squirrel?

Here’s the thing. My rough guess would be that 3/4 of all rich black families made their money in professional sports primarily the NFL because of the number of players and teams.

To do anything that would damage the standing and prestige of the NFL is so counterproductive it borders on insanity. It would be as if Jamie Dimon, Lloyd Blankfein and Baron Rothchild were to join Occupy Wall Street and demand the banking industry be nationalized!

Such is the stupidity of the negro however that, the players, rather than demand the Commissioner suspend or fire players engaging in activity against the leagues best interests rally around the malcontents and misfits who are destroying the very game that pays them.

I wondered if anyone was going to note what a dickhead kunstler is. Yeah, it’s fashionable nowadays to deride love of country (from the left and the right). I get really tired of the “god I hate America” sentiment.

That’s it, I’m done; no more NFL for me. Seeing the Cowboys kneel removed my last interest in pro football. Not that I’ve ever gone to a game without gift tickets, bought any NFL merch that wasn’t at the thrift store, played fantasy football or any of that – I just occasionally caught part of a game on TV when nothing else was on. Oh, I occasionally watched the Super Bowl – but no more.
They can impress themselves all they want – without me.
