I’ve been a Trek fan since 1968. It was really never about sci-fi … it was always about politics, hidden in plain view. I get that.
But, a Chink female captain and a nigger chick (Vulcan, or what the fuck ever) ….puh-lease!!! It was even too much for a progressive multicultural loving cocksucker such as myself.
I HAD to turn it off after 30 minutes.
The characters are unbelievably boring. Empty. Vapid. Wooden. Stiff. Nice visuals, though. Must have spent millions on that set … and $1.98 on the script. Worst piece of shit I’ve seen in a long time.
They are indeed going “where no man has gone before” … that is to say, alienating a life-long Trekkie. May they live for just one episode and never prosper!
Big fan. Tried to watch it. Couldn’t take it. And it didn’t have anything to do with the women being in charge. That was fine. It had to do with the horrible actions of the women who were in charge. That is direction. The people making this show are incompetent.
The United States Department of Arts and Culture is an act of collective imagination aimed at sparking creative change. Think of all the famous American females that will get statues to replace the racist monuments: Harriet Tubman, Rose Parks, April Glaspie, Jessica Lynch, Victoria Nuland, Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Monica Lewinsky, Jane Fonda etc. I’m sure the public school textbooks are crammed full of other great examples.
I think she is the key to Bob’s classification; what do these have in common?
