WINTER STORM QUINN

I’m so honored to have a nasty brutish winter storm named after me. I think it’s pretty fitting, based on my general disposition.

My place of work is closed today, so that means I’ll get one of my vacation days back. Cool. Even better, I don’t even have to deal with storm as I’m not anywhere near PA today.

We’re in Colorado on spring break to visit my oldest son. You would think it would be snowy and cold out here. It was pretty cold yesterday on our way to Breckenridge. But, it’s supposed to be mid 60’s on Thursday and Friday.

They haven’t had too much snow this year, so the ski resorts have been struggling. Maybe they shouldn’t gouge their customers ($170 day pass, $5 cookies) and they’d get more patronage. But big corporations only attempt to maximize profits in the short term to satisfy Wall Street.

I’m too old and fat to ski anymore. My sons are snowboarders. But I did enjoy the gondola rides. The scenic views are spectacular. The little town of Breckenridge is quaint, but it is clearly run by libs. There was a huge Pride banner strung across Main Street.

My three sons on the top of the mountain. They only get together once or twice per year now. Their mother is so happy when we can be together as a family.

Today we’re off to Boulder and tomorrow Colorado Springs to the The Garden of the Gods and Pike’s Peak. I hope the foot of snow at home melts before we get back.

It sounds and looks like you are having a delightful break from your normal routines and rigors. It is more than well-deserved. Thanks for sharing.

There’s a reason they charge those rates and the people who ski appreciate it even if they hang the funny banners to prove that’s not the reason.

I’m shellacking the snowshoes this morning because we’re due for another foot and a half and there’s still a thousand taps to put in. It never gets old.

Have a blast!

Well, enjoy – come back refreshed so you can write….you’re really good at it. Otherwise, it’s been as cold as a pimps heart here.

Sounds like a great sorely needed leisure time change of scenery.

I’d urge you to reconsider, and get a few runs in, following your boys down a couple of the less challenging ones.
The latest tech makes it easier to turn, and control your motion.
Never too old, man.
The extra girth you’re carrying will enhance gravity’s pull, LOL,and the boys won’t have to wait as long for you to get back to the lift.
Plus, too, look at it as more padding if you do fall while taking a fun run.
1 reco: If you do strap on a set of boards, rent or buy a helmet.
Cuz, you know, Sonny Bono and all.
If you ache afterwards, so what? I’m sure they stock Jameson out there close by.
Safe travels, to you and yours, Q.
Your pics make it look very appealing. Have fun.

A Freudian slip by the Deep state. TBP is living rent-free in their heads.

Admin,
It’s a fitting testament to the scope and depth of your writing, that the National Weather Service should honor you with the naming of this powerful storm.
I also second the opinion above that you should take a few runs down some moderate slopes with the boards on.
Have a blast!

What old fat person are you referring to? That’s not who I saw a pic of New Years eve (I think you posted one then) with your wife?

Of course I am a testament to what you see on the outside may not match what is going on inside the body.

Ahh, my native state. Yes, the tourist mountain towns are all overrun by liberals now. Most of the eastern slope too, outside of maybe Colorado Springs. My father calls Colorado “east California” and said most of the transplants as far back as ’82 (when we left) were from Cali-forn-ia. Really sad as it is a beautiful state with some superb skiing. Vail is my favorite but expect to cough up even more than Breck. Unfortunately I get back there less and less, but have found pretty good skiing in UT, MT, AB & BC as I explore what the Rockies have to offer. Really can’t go wrong with the mountain west.

The real question is if you’re indulging in any herb related recreational activities while visiting the Rocky Mountain High State??

“They haven’t had too much snow this year, so the ski resorts have been struggling. ”

Ever think it might be the global warming? Temps in the Arctic are 50°F above normal. The sea north of Greenland is free of ice.
