Were I a twitter user, I’d point out that the most likely reason he didn’t get accepted despite his good academic record is because he is white, and they most likely decided to give some less qualified minority female the spot instead, and that he can thank the people currently pulling his strings for that. But, alas, I have no social media accounts.
Taking race into account in the UC system is supposed to be against CA law. Private colleges in CA can utilize affirmative action if they want to. It’s more likely that his ACT score was inadequate. That 4.2 GPA was earned in CA and Miami-Dade schools, after all. Or maybe UCLA requires a neck circumference in excess of 13 inches.
Someone posted his rejection letter online. He got rejected because he couldn’t bench press 35 pounds.
UCLA probably has a very limited number of seats available to white males with barely average grades (4.2 is no big deal in that crowd). See, liberalism always comes around to bite you in the ass.

In some states, you get extra “points ” above 4.0 for taking AP classes, etc. Strictly conventional. Although in my kids’ school they only have a 4.0 point scale, 16% of the Seniors had a 4.0.
A 4 pt in the 2000’s does not mean what it did in the 70’s for instance, where in my graduating class of 540+ NO ONE HAD A 4.0.
