Your first statement is exactly what came to my mind. Not sure why he left that critical one off….as it is the CRUX of the problem. Aside from religion (which does benefit from property tax exemptions, so is somewhat a part of the government problem), ALL of the others are directly made worse, more powerful, more destructive, etc. BECAUSE of the presence of government power in the equation, and how it is used by them against the will of the consumer/citizens.

This guy is a raging lib that I disagree with on most issues, but he does a very good job at identifying the problems. Unfortunately, after he gets done articulating the things that are fucked up with this country and its government, all of the solutions he offers seem to revolve around moar government.
Moar Govt isn’t the solution; it’s the problem! Ditto for progressive dementia. The influences of these two factors are precisely why all those institutions have fallen!

As it is now, Congress barely functions, from numerous causes ranging from openly stupid people getting elected (like Maxine Waters and the new socialist Millenial from NY) to those who are in bed with one company / corporate group or another (hey, Schumer, who really signs your paychecks? Hint: it ain’t the Treasury) to those who are only interested in partisan causes (Nancy, I’m looking at you). But you also have to weigh that half the people are below average intelligence. One or two Maxine Waters types can be survived; can you imagine a WHOLE CONGRESS staffed by Maxine, Hank Johnson, Anthony Weiner clones?
We have to figure out a mechanism whereby the capable and competent while honest (thinking of Ron Paul, maybe Mike Lee of Utah, a few others) stay in office AS LONG AS they stay capable, competent and honest; while the Maxines, Hanks and Anthonys are detected, convicted and ejected as soon as possible. Maybe an Inspector General of Congress with authority to demand imprisonment for crimes committed?
There are several mechanisms that could bring about something like what you describe, but none of them will ever happen, because if they were, democrats would never win another election. Any of these, plus others would work:
– Be gainfully employed
-Had to be born here
-Your parents had to be born here
-IQ/literacy test. Removes at least 50% of black people in one fell swoop
-Own property
-Graduate high school or even have GED
Or, and this one is REALLY far fetched, somehow have less really stupid people in a society. Any one of those would work, but none of them will happen.
