People are hand-viewing ballots, trying to determine if stray marks in the circles are real votes or not, etc. As bad as “hanging chads.” Remember, it was Florida’s incompetence in the 2000 election that “justified” forcing unauditable, easily hackable, and easily-controllable, electronic voting machines on the rest of us. Not that there was any reason to trust the voting process before, and not that voting truly matters when the candidates are pre-selected anyway, but all the money that was wasted!
The money is invested in a venture where power is the goal. The power to buy and sell you, your wife and kids. The power to make war, to depose foreign rulers, to overturn the social order and make former slaves into shot-callers.
