This uprising is going nowhere. Why? Because there is no defined goals. Here is generally what they want:
1) higher minimum wage. That will not help them, but will kill jobs. Their issue is that France is horribly unproductive. Raising wages against the reality of highly productive Germany, on the same currency, is tantamount to national suicide.
2) the want lower taxes, at least for themselves. Don’t we all. But they have not addressed what they are prepared to give up. So, really, they want the same amount of free shit, but want to pay even less for it.
3) they want huge taxes on the rich. Well, last time they did that, being it is the EU and all, the rich took their bat and ball and went to friendlier climates. And so France went oh fuck, that is not what we hoped for with 75% tax rate on the rich, and quickly got rid of something so idiotic as a 75% tax rate. So their wanting of a huge tax rate on the rich has already failed, and would again only hurt them if implemented.
So, the yellow vests want shit that will hurt them, either directly, or indirectly, or which would result in the loss of free shit they currently get.
