WASHINGTON, D.C.—Addressing the nation, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez warned her fellow Americans that she has an extensive list of failed socialist policies she’ll implement one at a time.
She waved the list around menacingly, frightening the nation in a video posted to her various social media accounts. The list reportedly contained hundreds of economic and social policies that would absolutely destroy the nation. From government takeovers of key industries to centralized planning of the economy, the list was absolutely packed with horrible ideas. Ocasio-Cortez warned the country that she would implement them if her demands are not met.
“I have here in my hand a list of 205 socioeconomic policies that failed every time they were implemented,” she said threateningly, “and I swear to Karl, I will implement them if I have to.”
“Listen, I already lost 25,000 jobs for my constituents—just imagine what I could do to the whole country,” she concluded ominously.

Why don’t we have a real debate about socialism and what part of it would be good for america?
Why the debate?
To answer the following question: Why is it that the Chinese socialist system is lifting so many in their country out of poverty while american capitalism is increasing poverty and homelessness?
In the United States corporations control the government; the private interest controls the public. In China the government controls the corporations. The public interest controls the private.
So in the United States the 1% control the 99%. Where is democracy? It obviously does not exist here in the United States.
We no longer live in a republic created by our forefathers. We live in a capitalist system created by the corporations with their Uniform Commercial Code; a capitalist code forced on the people for the benefit of the corporations. As a result of this; poverty and homelessness is increasing.
Maybe Ocasio-Cortez is on to something. This is not to say she has the answers in socialism but she is questioning the present system which we all should be doing.
We have a major problem in america with corporate monopolies run by the capitalist 1%. We have two ways to deal with this problem. We can bust them up or nationalize them.

Don’t know how old you are but this old dog has seen his world change in a lifetime and it will be the same for all those old dogs now running this congress.
New blood is coming in with new ideas. The old guard is dying.
The “Tree of Liberty” is within us and for many people this tree is dead within them. Not for me.
Every occasion has it’s own possibilities. I have faith that the next generation coming up; the young ones now coming into existence, will bring new bread for humanity and water the “tree of liberty” with a living water that takes our species into a new level of being.
Why do I believe this?
Because it has been foretold in the scriptures.

I’ve got some hope in the next generation….the ones I personally know, anyway. Some don’t get out of the saddle long enough to go into town but once a week, and the town is less than a thousand; or a couple of others who are both engineering majors in the third year of college. One of which I am concerned for, as he has taken an internship in a facility that maintains and disarms nuke warheads……. the LAST place I would want for him !

I down voted every comment on this subject except yours. Why? Because they are all negative comments by empty suits with nothing to offer.
This is still the best country in the world for personal development as long as one stays out of politics and out of the spotlight.
This empire we are living in is a copy of the Roman Empire but with technology added. The previous Roman Empire failed because it’s leaders went insane as is happening now with our current leaders. Just take a look at Mike pence; for example. His eyes show demonic possession. Look at all the old dogs running the congress; especially the senate. They are all about service to self. These are the types that have brought death to the republic.
And yet in spite of this one can live and be free in our minds as long as we understand the nature of evil and the nothingness of it.
Ocasio-Cortez is a product of the young people’s discontent with capitalism. She is pushing socialism. Like it or not this country is headed toward socialism because capitalism is not serving the people. The people now in government; at all levels, are going to be challenged as the future unfolds.
Have you ever heard the story of the Temple of Delphi and how the Romans came and overtook it and tortured the High Priestess? Metaphysically it is a story about how empires crush the will of the people and tax them until there is nothing left to support the empire so the empire dies. This is what is happening to our empire at the present time.

Socialism is coming. Capitalism is failing. Fiat money built capitalism. When fiat money dies; and it is dying, capitalism will die with it.
Let me ask you a question. Who really built this country? Was it not the people who cultivated the land with their sweat equity, labored to build our cities, roadways and infrastructure? Came here from Europe and used their skills to start companies and develop the durable goods that made our country a powerhouse?
Then investors using capital started large corporations that bought up all these products; now calling them “brands” and using administrative law became monopolies stifling competition and then eliminating jobs by going overseas in search of cheap labor to make more profit for the few and pushing the many into poverty.
No wonder the many who are the descendants of the people who built this country are fed up with capitalism and it’s predatory practices of mining the people for everything and leaving them with debt and no hope of getting ahead.
An interesting observation is the majority of companies built in the 19th and 20th century were developed from the bottom up. Conversely many of the giant corporations put together in the late 20th century were structured from the top down.
This goes against nature. These corporations are artificial constructs. They cannot survive without subsistence from the government. There is no natural glue to hold them together.
Without the government nurturing them and protecting them from competition they will fail.
And this brings us back to socialism. The Will of the people has been broken to start new enterprises because of excessive government regulation, interference and taxation. So because incentive to produce has been broken by these artificial roadblocks people are turning to socialism.
As I said in my last comment every occasion contains it’s own possibilities. So the coming socialism that seems to becoming very fashionable to the young generation is going to dominate the political landscape as the old dogs die out or are pushed out of their current leadership positions.
