Interesting little story. The headline makes a claim, the reporter describes he reaction to the incident, and there are several photographs of the flyers that accompany the feature. Additionally there are two very short videos, one that shows the location of the incident and the crowd that were on the receiving end and a second one that appears to be made by the people who dropped the flyers at a different location in another similar leaflet dropping incident.
There are several comments in the article, one from the College President, and another from a college reporter, both very specific about the contents of the flyers and the intent behind it.
Can you identify the problem with the coverage of the incident and the evidence presented?

Hundreds gathered at an outdoor college fundraiser in downtown Sacramento Friday evening; residents were abruptly interrupted when a drone buzzed overhead and dropped Nazi propaganda flyers, reported The State Hornet.
Flyers landed on Sacramento State’s annual “Bites on the Bridge” Farm-to-Fork dinner held on Guy West Bridge, a suspension bridge for students linking the school with campus dorms.

Additional reports said flyers were also dropped around the Golden 1 Center, where thousands were waiting to enter the stadium for an Ariana Grande concert.
The flyers, marked with swastikas and statements like “stop the TV whore takeover” and “the press is the enemy,” went viral on social media.
CSUS President Robert S. Nelsen issued a statement condemning the flyers shortly after The State Hornet reported the incident.
“Sacramento State condemns in the strongest terms the dissemination of hate speech and propaganda Friday evening at our annual fundraising dinner on the Guy West Bridge. The anonymous act of spreading such vile material is offensive and runs counter to the principles of inclusion and diversity practiced at Sac State. It did not stop the event, nor will it slow our march toward greater understanding and commitment to the rights and safety of our campus community.”
Dominic Vitiello, a reporter for the student paper, posted pictures on Twitter of the flyers recovered from Friday’s drone drops.

University spokesman Brian Blomster told The State Hornet that the Sacramento State Police Department was informed about the incident and has since launched an investigation into who was operating the drone.
The flyers had a web address to “The Red ‘X’ Society” and various social media accounts, which shows a video last month of a drone releasing flyers over the California State Capitol.
The State Hornet noted Twitter user @TracyMapes tweeted drone images of the State Capitol and the surrounding area one day before the incident. They said the American River College student and Sacramento resident Tracy Mapes had a run-in with the law on suspicion of dropping flyers on two NFL games in Santa Clara and Oakland.
It certainly seems that whoever was operating the drone felt more compelled to spread propganda by drone and leaflets than social media due to the recent Facebook banning of far-right figures.

How does that flyer have anything at all to do with Nazis?
I was wondering the same thing. If these are the leaflets that were dropped, there appears to be no connection to the ones that the reporter and college president saw.
If there were indeed Nazi propaganda with swastikas would it not have been appropriate to show those images? Whenever someone spray paints one on a wall or garage door it is featured prominently in the media coverage, but not in this case.
If someone reads this with more than a little mild curiosity that detail would jump right out at you. It appears from what was pictured that it was a critique of the Media, something completely devoid of any political or ideological content. Unless we are to understand that the media itself is a part of the political establishment and therefore immune from criticism.
We are entering a new phase of the propaganda campaign in which any dissent in any form for any reason is now equated with Nazism. Ironic to say the least.
That was just the media framing the story.

This whole thing smells of psy ops. Whoever dropped the leaflets did so on a group of college progs, a perfect group for believing there is ‘nazi’ hate in any and everything not leftist propaganda. From what I can see the leaflets refer to the media as nazis. One of two things happening here. Either it’s a ploy to stop conservative information dissemination of any type. Ban conservatives from the internet, now ban them from dropping leaflets by drone because ‘nazi’ or it’s a real attempt to disseminate conservative information because of the internet restrictions now happening.

Reporter also states ‘additional reports said’…without specifically sourcing them.
The problem with CSUS President Nelson’s statement is the mention of classic, modern tell-tale buzzwords or phrases, used to proclaim a position, and claim a false moral high ground.

Nazi symbols? Where?
Clearly, those “in charge” of the real propaganda are feeling a bit concerned about alternatvie methods of dissemination of alternative ideas catching fire – drones and flyers are cheap and events are plentiful. So, they bring out the worst name calling they can think of and blame it on Nazis and then label it by the name that more appropriately describes what it is they are doing themselves: propaganda.
I think one of the greatest fears of the powers that be is for the populace to realize that their voices can easily shoutdown any official propaganda IF they want to do it.
From real world observation and interaction, I don’t believe most people care. There are just too many phones, too many facebook accounts, too much entertainment, and too much enjoyment of current lifestyles for a huge percentage of the population. Most seem, for the most part, totally content. They will deny, deny, deny because challengers are attacking their lifestyles – like the Matrix presented.

If you follow the link to see the actual swastika, the flyer is actually proposing that the media/state is the fascist party. Not only does this have nothing to do with national socialism or the “right wing” it’s actually the reverse – whoever dropped the flyers is accusing the state/media of being Nazis, presumably making the flyer-dropper anti-Nazi. Only in clown world would the media flip reality like that.

I clicked the link to the State Hornet article. It has a pic of what seems to be the reverse of one of the leaflets and it is all swastika. Can’t figure out why this wasn’t displayed more prominently in the other coverage as it would seem to have more of an impact for their message, which , by the way doesn’t try at all to argue against the claims made in the leaflets.
And whoever did the copy for the “Warning” leaflet misspelled “consistent”.
It’s the deliberate misrepresentation of the swastika. Clearly it was comparing the current media with the Hitlerian model, but if they show it then people could read it and process the intent. Instead of that, they tell you it means the exact opposite for effect.
