The caption suggests that 91% of those who died from the virus did not have other illnesses. If that is the case then it sounds like thinning of the herd may be going faster in Italy compared to elsewhere.
How far out did you go on the silver options.
Dec 2020 @ $30. Good liquidity at this price point. Took the position 2 weeks ago. Already doubled my money. Looking to buy more. Will look at a higher strike price.
Don’t just look at the silver spot price. Spot plus premium ($8 to $9) is the true price.
So buy in now at around $20 and make $$ if it doesn’t go over $30 within the time frame?
Given the time between now and expiration, the current price for these calls is reflecting higher silver prices in the future. If I hold the option to expiration and silver does not exceed $30, rhe option expires at a value of $0.
Between now and expiration, I have to monitor the silver market and the price of these options. I do not foresee holding the options to maturity unless the price of silver is well above $30. I most likely will sell parts of my position to lock in profits and take money off the table. There is a lot of time from now to maturity and much can happen. This creates a lot of volatility and opportunities to make or lose money. This is why I bought option because going in I know what my maximum loss can be.
Very important point, my trading account is never more than 10% of my portfolio. This is why I am always looking to lock in profits and take money off the table. There were times when I thought I had a great plan and I have been blindsided by unexpected events where I have lost money. This is where you learn the importance of having a trading plan and sticking to it, in good or bad times. Try to remove the emotional part of trading. Remember, ‘pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered.’

Saw an article this AM where Senator Burr liquidated his stock holdings in Feb to the tune of nearly $2M, saving himself from a 30+% loss. This is while the administration was still in “it’s just the flu, bro” mode. I’m sure Burr isn’t alone in cashing out at the right time. Big winners, as always, are the politicians. That said, the central banks have created $trillions in liquidity. What other industry gets such a blank check to rape and pillage and always get bailed out when they get upside down? The biggest winners are the big banks (or maybe more appropriately the bankers,) hands down.
Here’s another. Amazing timing on the price increase. What a stroke of pure luck! They’ve since dropped the price back to where it was, probably after getting noticed.
