DETROIT, MI—On Meet the Press Sunday, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer reminded everyone that “revolutions and revolts are simply un-American.”
Whitmer called on the protesters in her state to stop their illegal assembling, reminding them that protesting so-called tyranny is a foreign idea to the history of the United States.
“Protesting and revolting against your wise rulers goes against everything America was built on,” she said. “It flies in the face of every American tradition. Revolting against tyranny has no place in this great country.”
Governor Whitmer then rattled off a long list of things that she also believes to be un-American:
- Declaring independence from tyrants
- Having a list of protected rights
- Separation of powers
- Democratically elected leaders
- Freedom of religion, assembly, the press, protests, and speech.
- Federalism
- Apple pie
- Baseball
- America
“If you’re really Americans, you’ll stop with this dangerous revolutionary activity,” she concluded.

It didn’t sound like joking to me, however, I totally agree with with your comment. It takes a lot to wake up the sheeple or in many cases the normalacy bias trumps the facts.
Just got off the phone with my father. He’s too smart to fall for this, but the hive mind is powerful. He asked me to explain why the obit section in the NYT was so large these days if it wasn’t what they said it was. I asked him if it wasn’t possible that perhaps now they’re padding it with the newly deceased hoi polloi to keep up the charade. I asked him to dig up and old NYT and look at the obits and see if he could find a single one that wasn’t about some connected poobah or elitist and compare to the recent ones. They don’t normally do obits for school teachers and doormen. Now every wino headed to Potter’s Field gets their name in the paper.
He was kind of surprised that I’d caught that and I told him it was because my foundational belief system is that we are always being lied to, therefore if they say something, automatically assume it is false and work towards the truth from there.
Tried the same with my own father who’s 75. I thought he got it but two days later called me saying “I think this is a really bad pandemic because of all the young healthy people who are dying.”
I basically told him exactly what you told your father. Despite growing up in an era when he thought media could generally be trusted, he’s more open minded than my brother and his wife.
I’m always astounded at demands of absolute proof when I call b.s. on the MSM, but no proof or evidence or even thought goes into questioning what comes out of the mouths of the talking heads. To most people, what they hear on t.v. is ground truth that must be disproven, and no amount of evidence can disprove what they were told to think by the media.
No thought is given to doubting the mainstream narrative, but every possible objection (and many impossible ones) is made against anything that contradicts the narrative.
This is why we’re screwed.
The governor operates under administrative law not the constitution. Administrative law is the perfect law that tyrants operate under. Why? Because their is no recourse provision in this form of law.
It is really disgusting she ignores her oath of office. It shows she cannot be trusted to serve the people. She serves administrative law.
