Playground puke mobile, that and monkey bars. No wonder today’s kids are F’ng snowflakes. They’d have never survived our childhoods. ???

It did not kill us, so we got stronger and wiser.

Started to post the music video, but was afraid Admin would banish me for putting Kelly on his site.

2nd grade end of year party and my best friend got thrown off of one of those and ended up with a broken leg, but other than that, it was a fun day.

Injury looking for a place to happen Mr. L. I remember more bad stuff happening here than anywhere else.

Yes but we survived despite ourselves and the playground equipment. That’s my point, we got some bumps, bruises, and the occasional broken bone but we lived to tell about it. It made us stronger and tougher, our baptism by fire.

How many cow doctors do we have posting here? One seems to be countering the comments of the other.

I never had the good fortune to play on one of those, but the park near my house had one of the big dome-type jungle gyms. It was on sand, so not at bad when you fell, but still plenty of opportunities for injury (and learning good hand-eye coordination, building strong arms, learning balance, overcoming fear of heights, etc.). And given the 100+ temps during the summer, it also taught you how to take a metal burn on your hands and play through. LOL. More like one of these:

Just me posting, what I was trying to say is despite the danger we survived and learned from it. Our folks didn’t always helicopter in and save us from our mistakes and allowed us to develop wisdom and courage. We had one of the cage type structures you originally posted at my elementary school. More than a few of us boys got our balls racked on that thing. I learned why you wear a cup playing contact sports from that thing.

In “gym” class we had ropes hanging from the ceiling. I don’t know, they were way up there. Only about 2 kids in 10 could make the climb (not me btw).

YOU LEFT OUT THE “VERTIGO!!!!!!” My Head spun around and I twisted, turned and fell down….. eventually i got back up!!! The next time i encountered a “Spin” like that … I was a fledgling SKYDIVER on my first 15 second delay jump!! OH the spin got fast, and I “PULLED MY RIPCORD!! ” Spun up a couple of turns on my schroud lines but all was well!! Lynn Anselmo squared me away on my next jump!!… ‘Said ,”RELAX!!!!!!” Did a 30 second delay!! NO SPIN!! I was home free!!!
But memories of that “Merrigoround” are still there!!
There are more stories…
Meet me at the Bar!!!….
And I’ll tell a tale or two….
as long as the beer ad whiskey hold out!!!!!!!
