Don’t worry, in 1 generation, the Asians will be trending down also. I hope not.

The trend will be down once the Common Core BS and political indoctrination studies take the place of science, technology, and hard math courses. We had the misfortune of sending one of my three to a state-sponsored school where the multiculturalism and political correctness was rampant. He’s 26 and still in denial of the liberal brainwashing he got. It’ll fade in time.
The younger two avoided that fate and were sent to private military college where that garbage was less prevalent. One is pursuing a Masters and a Doctorate before age 30. Good discipline and a lack of liberal idiocy within the STEM program helps, but even in good colleges like my old Purdue, the liberal idiots who cannot do, teach.

No arguing that government schools (the vast majority of the schools in America) are complete and total crap. But there has also been a significant push over the past couple of decades, to get everyone to go to college, regardless of their qualifications or ability to handle the coursework (well, the coursework that is actually about learning something useful – so not gender studies, etc.). As a result, and combined with the shift away from SAT scores as tools by which to judge qualification, more and more completely unqualified folks are taking the SATs – from ALL segments of society. Asians on the other hand have parents who MAKE SURE that they are qualified to attend college, even though THEY are actively discriminated against so that Deshonte with a 2.3 GPA and a 752 SAT score, can get into college, get all sorts of student loans, and eventually flunk out and be forever burdened by debt he will never be able to repay. Yeah, that’s how to help them….LOL.

Obviously we’re not spending enough money on edumacation`. And there’s so many more border jumpers waiting to get in and join the gravy train. That’ll help the results.

Isn’t it spelled “edumakashun?” I could be wrong. I went to private schools.

Hmmmm…as diversity has increased scholastic scores have decreased. What’s going on here? Weren’t we told diversity makes us stronger? Somehow better?
In this empire of lies, truth stands in the corner beaten and battered.

Standards were lowered with EO and Affirmative Action.
Non-English speakers were dumped into the educational system and their inability to grasp concepts in that language caused curriculum to be scaled back, sometimes to the remedial level. The problem is so bad that many applicants at the community college level are still unable to write a coherent paragraph well enough to take college English 101.

Note what racial group is at the bottom yet the majority of public school systems spend the most per black student . Just does not add up , or does it ? We all know why ! Again the politically correct belief you can pick up a turd from the clean end !

Just watching Charles Payne and some black GOP spokesman dance around the issue. Seems that Microsoft’s pledge to hire 50% black managers may in fact violate some BS title of some BS government edict (ie – be reverse discrimination). So the two black clowns dance around the need for “investment” in the community, “better educational opportunities,” “the need for Microsoft to invest in educational training to fill their particular needs,” etc. while failing to appreciate that edumakashun is already FREE to everyone, and that blacks waste their opportunity, are not supported by their single moms and absent dads, are promoted from grade to grade by mostly black teachers and administrators (so as to not face the wrath of moms and lawyers), and are completely ill-equipped to handle either college or whatever specific job training topics this GOP clown was suggesting Microsoft should be “investing” with. Until blacks are finally willing (like Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, and others) to admit what is really wrong, and start pointing fingers, nothing is going to ever get better. And no, blacks likely are never going to achieve academically what other folks will, but that does not mean that other business options are out of their reach. Until we stop pushing everyone in the direction of the communist brainwashing centers of “higher learning,” the problem will never go away (for all folks).

60+ years ago, we were given scholastic assessment tests at the end of the school year. The results of these tests determined which class you would be in the following year. In my school, there were 3 different groups of students – High, Average & Low achievement. Teachers tended to teach to the median intelligence in the class, so the high achievers were receiving a higher level of education than the low achievers.

With the advent of integration, we also were not allowed to separate students according to ability to learn. Teachers continued to teach to the median intelligence, so overall the teaching was at a lower level for all students. I am so glad that I attended my first 9 years of school before all of the “normalization” rules were implemented. In high school, we were allowed to select optional classes, so the more advanced students could once again be surrounded by those who were eager to learn.

Public schools have become indoctrination centers, as well as day care centers. If I had a child today, I would be homeschooling to make sure they were getting a solid fundamental education and learning critical thinking skills.

We can solve this problem….we just need more money. That’s all I ever hear from the School Board around here. Hell they spend more per pupil than my stepson pays for college tuition .

The brain in both young adults and children is much more active when writing by hand than when typing on a keyboard.

“The use of pen and paper gives the brain more ‘hooks’ to hang your memories on. Writing by hand creates much more activity in the sensorimotor parts of the brain. A lot of senses are activated by pressing the pen on paper, seeing the letters you write and hearing the sound you make while writing. These sense experiences create contact between different parts of the brain and open the brain up for learning. We both learn better and remember better,” says Van der Meer.

The same happens with math done in steps, longhand.
One of the absolute WORST decisions in schools was the allowing calculators in certain classes because the logical reasoning of math problem solving was done by the machine, not the human. During my high school years I had a history teacher who would offer an extra credit essay question on his tests. Many people would avoid the essay and sacrifice the extra points. To me, it was a challenge and a way to express a certain perspective of thought on the question. The teacher, of course, could always discern the thought process and logic as opposed to the “baffle him with bullshit” routine that could reflect your true depth of understanding.

The multiple “hooks” indeed. I have been blessed with a fantastic memory. It is likely the reason I was able to party heavily and still graduate college with a manageable gpa. Whenever I have to recall something, the more hooks, the easier it is. Indeed, when you reduce the learning process to simple memorize and regurgitate, with no context, detail, work, etc. nothing ever sticks. One hook, unless it is a traumatic or similar hook, ever does the trick completely.

I’m surprised to see Blacks at the bottom of this chart. After watching “Hidden Figures” I was convinced those Black ladies were as smart, if not smarter, than Wherner von Braun.
