Hey, buddy, I am now OFFICIALLY back …. thanks to YOUR generous gift of this Lenovo Thinkpad I’m typing this on. That’s right … no more library visits for me!!
OK, Mr. AOC, you’ve had your break after my 500-comment shit-fest of a post. We have all regrouped, are all happy happy joy joy once again, and we’re gayly singing songs of love and passion to each other.
So, for the love of all that is holy and pure … please GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE!!!
============
P.S. I think Admin said someone else also helped pay for this computer. I don’t know who you are but, of course, thank you also!
P.S.S. I am STILL getting the soft-porn advertisements even on this brand new ‘puter. I’ve never clicked on them … not at the library. I think I’ll do so right after clicking send cuz, I mean, …. I am now free to choke-the-chicken in the comfort of my own home (only if absolutely positively necessary). Free, free at last ……
Stucky.
I shot him an email for you.
I’m sure the library is happy that the men’s room stall is available now for regular shit slingers instead of pud pounders.
Thank you very much.
He’s a mighty fine person and terrific gentleman. I so very much hope he comes back soon.
In Denver its the Junkies, the Junkies have taken over the library.
Fully.
Especially the bathroom, you have to step over passed out junkies with needles layin about, to take a piss.
And god help you if you gotta go in one of the stalls.
Did you notice they have removed upholstered furniture from many libraries? And then their bedbug counts went way, way down.
Stucky, you’re just so funny.
Thank you. That’s the nicest think anyone can say to me.
By the way, are you still taking your golden spice, Turmeric?
You bet! In fact, I now take the following spice-cocktail daily (1 tsp each)
— cayenne pepper
— cumin
— black cumin
— garlic powder
— ground ginger
— turmeric
Why? Based on a book I read last month; “How not to diet”. Yes, I am easily convinced by the latest food fad.
However, this does not seem to be a fad. It’s a 400+ page book based on THOUSANDS of scientific studies. And it seems spices are really really good for preventing all kinds of diseases … with the above being super-duper (my term) spices. Ceylon Cinnamon should also be added.
That being said, I disagree with much of what he’s peddling.
For example, he says coconut oil is bad. Bullshit! He says omega oils from fish are overrated. Again, bullshit! Although he doesn’t come right out and say it, he’s pretty much espousing a VEGAN diet. Screw that.
But, that doesn’t mean he’s completely full of shit. He really does have a lot of good info. He has a free website that is just massively filled with info. I think you (and other foodies) would find it helpful. It’s called — https://nutritionfacts.org/
For his page on spices see https://nutritionfacts.org/?s=spices
Thanks for the link, Stucky. I’ll check it out. After all, my medical plan consists of herbs and spices. The combination you list above is absolutely awesome and health fulfilling.
And, yeah, I don’t do vegan. I eat according to the Keto diet the majority of the time because that’s actually my natural diet, what I want to eat. To find out it’s a healthy way to eat is even better.
I just watched this guy’s video talking about the introduction of his book. I think his biggest mistake for promoting veganism is because he doesn’t differentiate between conventionally-grown meat and organic, grass-feed meat. There’s a huge difference between the two.
For example, for weight loss, if you eat meat from sources that were fed grains and injected with hormones, those alone will make you gain weight. Grains and weight-increasing hormones will be present in the meat that you eat. Organic, grass-fed meat doesn’t do this. Meat-based fats, the same exact thing.
Plus, he cites studies very limited in time for suggesting veganism. You can live as a vegan for six months to year for the majority of healthy people before health problems start. In fact, a vegan diet for about 3 months can be very good for you. But you have to return to a well-rounded diet or, again, health problems start.
Throughout history, the poor have been limited to vegan-style diets, with only an occasional bit of meat and meat fat if they were lucky, but the rich ate meat. Ever wonder why that is? Because it’s more nutritious and healthier. And meat was limit and expensive then.
This guy offers some good information, but also some misleading information, as you point out. He’s not actually looking outside of the Big Ag box.
HSF, do you want to chime in on conventional meat vs. organic, grass fed?
Just one thing to add. We don’t know who funded the research he cited, which can influence said outcome. Sure, you could look the multitude of them up, but who will bother when watching these videos or reading a website?
Bingo. He spends a lot of time in the book mocking research funded by companies in vested interests … such as sugar companies funding research to show that excess intake of sugar has no negative side effects. Rightfully so.
But, then regarding the issue of fish oils being bad … he cites just ONE study … and, the review I read said he picked the worst conducted and most unscientific fish oil study of all time. So, at a minimum, he cherry-picks his data. At worst, he is a damned hypocrite.

And the there’s the Really Weird Shit. He promotes something called “mild tredenlenburg”. Ever heard of it? Me neither. Here is what one doctor said about that;
“This is a method of sleeping where your head of bed is tilted down by six degrees. Frankly, I’m stunned that this recommendation made Dr. Greger’s list considering the small benefit it may have versus the potential risk of harm. Not only can sleeping this way lead to dizziness and fainting when you wake up (which can cause injury), it can have a negative impact on those with heart or lung disease, cause acid reflux, and increase the pressure in the brain and eyes. Given these risks, I would recommend completely avoiding this behaviour.”
IMHO, this guy fluctuates between Genius and Quack. Be veeewy veewy careful.
Yep. You always have to do your own research. Don’t take anyone’s word for it. The more sources you investigate, the better off you’ll be.
The genius part of him did offer some very good advice but the quack in him misleads. And this is not against him only. There are a lot of health professionals, allopathic and holistic, that do this cherry picking.
Raw garlic and onion are a super foods and have many health benefits including anti inflammatory qualities. An onion a day keeps the doctor away!
I agree, Hans.
Garlic, Onion and Green hot chilis. The holy triumvirate!
That’s also good.
Don’t forget the black pepper with the turmeric, it seriously helps its absorption. And add Vitamin D (at least 5000 iu, i do 50.000), K2 . magnesium, NAC, and quercitin. Coconut oil is awersome, but some say MCT oil is better, but it gives me the shits! I’ve gotta think of some good punk rock tunes to bring AOC back!
V V, told him he put the Fun in dysfunction, and that’s the truth.
You have to have a sense of humor when you have a progressive seester as Stucky has. Otherwise, it’s murder.
Do you think AOC and EC are together at an Alphabet Convention? Both are MIA.
Stucky, I’ve been insulating and sheathing my chicken coop and planting apple trees. I’ve been lurking from time to time when I’m not homeschooling my son in Math and History. Fuck, no time to do anything fun.
You’re welcome for the computer, but no more thanks for it!!! It’s a bigger deal that you’re back and stirring up shit. I saw your post about RE. Holy shit, makes me feel very guilty for some of the things I said or thought about him in the past…I seem to recall his very weird views on funeral pyres when he dies, or some shit.
I hope he gets well and continues being a royal pain in he ass in Mat-Su. He’s up in Sarah Palin country.
And can someone contact Llpoh and tell him to get his teepee-pitching ass back here? Seriously, it’s not the same without you two.
AoC – Good to see you back, if even for a minute or two. Oz is under some strange rules and lots of folks are getting perp walked for not following orders or trying to organize a protest.
I’m sure they are monitoring all posts, so Loopy may be lurking, but doesn’t want to tip his hand.
Damn, you have your hands full. We did the homeschooling thing … for two boys, all subjects. It is a helluva lot of work. But, I didn’t have to sheath any chickens …. whatever that means. I’m just happy to know that you’re still here lurking and enjoying the posts. Mary Christine wrote a helluva good one this evening.
Yeah, sad thing about RE. He used to brag that that he had ‘more money than God’ inherited from his banker dad, or something like that … and now on his web site he’s asking for donations to buy a wheelchair (I think) for $1,500. Sad, so sad.
OTOH, it brings to light once again the reminder (as if I needed it) that life is so very damned short, and we’re all just one heartbeat away from the Grim Reaper. BTW, life gets shorter the older you get. duh. And scarier, sometimes.
Glad to see you are busy, your article on hugelkulture had traction with me, im too broke to buy any plants right now. But spring will come and ill be better prepared.
Gooseberries. The clear winner without question out of all my berry attempts, over raspberries, honey berries, cherries, plumbs, aronia, and even currant, although we did harves a decent amount of currant this year.
I will add wood to the beds before planting more gooseberries next year, thanks for the tip. Best with all your endeavors.
HELP!!!!
How do I copy images to TBP ????
At the library I just did a right click and selected “image information” and copied the jpg file. That was MS 8.
This operating system is MS10 … and I don’t see any of those options.
Stucky – MG wrote an article about using pictures back around the first of the year. You might search for it and see if it helps.
I still miss MG. I hope she’s not “permanently” banned and can come back one day. She was always good for increasing conversations/shitfests.
I miss her, as well, she was the first to welcome me to TBP. She was getting pretty weird as the Wu Who Flu gained steam.
That article might have been the first of last year. It was good tho.
Not sure *exactly* what you’re trying to do, but if you want to easily post an image:
1. Go to https://imgflip.com.
2. Look in the top righthand corner of their website for a link entitled Make a meme.
3. Click “Upload new template”.
4. Click “Upload image from your device”.
5. In the popup that appears, click “Show all files” and Windows Explorer (where all your files and folders are) will open.
6. Navigate to wherever your file is and double-click it. You’ll see it displayed.
7. Click “Upload”.
7. On the same page, you will see a blue button entitled “Generate Meme”.
8. Imgflip will generate a link to your file in the “Image Link:” field, but of course they’ve recently made it more difficult. Say your image link is https://imgflip.com/i/4ijuhd. Change it to this: https://i.imgflip.com/4ijuhd .jpg, without the extra space. Like so (mouse over the image of the Arizona Cypress tree and in the lower lefthand corner of your browser, you’ll see the link):
You call those directions easy? If they go past 3 then I’m already looking out the window at a shiny, sparkly object.
True. But when you’re bored and in a mood, the extra 5 steps make it worth it if you want to troll assholes.
It depends on where you want the image to go, Stucky. If you just want to share an image you see on the ‘net, just right click on the image and when you see the drop-down box click on “copy image location”. Then paste it where you want to share it on the net. I do it all the time with U-tube videos like this one:
That’s what I do and it works.
.
Make sure to work with both hands, just in the interests of keeping yer balance…..
You’re right to protect your livestock because the Eddy Minimum (2020 to 2050?) is going to kill a lot of unprotected farm animals probably starting this Winter; I bet new Preppers from big cities will be getting an education come January. I loaded up with 60 Black Jersey Giant female chicks this Spring and am now getting an abundance of extra small eggs about the size a pigeon might lay; kinda cool.
I don’t have a lot of chickens, but the ones I do have are hard as shit to acquire and I plan on protecting them until I can spread their DNA around my town. Salmon Faverolles (Threatened) and Crevecoeurs (Endangered). Crevs are originally from my family’s neck of the woods in France. The goal is to breed them and donate/sell them back into my locality.
AOC- This is a red letter day! You are back and Stucky removed me from his enemy list. If I totaled it up, I have prolly been on the shit list more days than off. LOL
I did a serious shout out to you after the shitfest to come back, glad you have returned to your friends. You can’t let things said in heated moments in a shitfest get to you. Welcome back!
Download no script or adblock brother!
Now, if we can just get EC back in the mix Stucky, it would be great.
BL here.
I can’t put in words how much I miss EC! Well, at least not without sounding like a homo.
I think he was also fighting some personal issues … perhaps his health. I think of him often and sometimes even shoot up a prayer — “Hey, God, I hope you’re taking care of EC.” Really.
Homo, but yes we all miss him. Quite a unique and genius bird.
I believe EC is fighting pancreatitis, which is taking a toll on him.
Good Lord!
Someone thought giving Stuckman unlimited access to the net was a good idea?!
Wow,the world is in for it now!
As for the porn ads,run Linux and a good browser/search engine and they will become a thing of the past, that tis,if you want it to!
