As the first anniversary of “two weeks to flatten the curve” draws near we have an opportunity to review mankind’s achievements over the past year.

Amazingly, deaths from influenza, pneumonia and T.B. have been virtually eradicated.

Heart disease deaths are down by a third.

The “experts”, computer modelers and forecasters, whose numbers were wrong by 1000%, are still employed advising governments and receiving awards.

$9 trillion of desperately needed and freshly printed fiat money was injected into the world financial system to prevent the collapse of Wall Street and the City of London.

The net worth of billionaire oligarchs increased by 30%.

Global debt levels skyrocketed, reaching an aggregate total of around 300 trillion dollars, nearly 4x world GDP.

Billions of face masks, with a weave size relative to the size of a virus drawing comparisons of trying to catch mosquitos with a chain-link fence, have been manufactured and are now adding to global pollution.

Death from cancer, suicides etc continue to grow significantly with no downturn on the horizon.

250 million people around the world have been pushed back below the poverty line with many starving.

The mental health of a generation of youngsters has been impaired, possibly permanently.

Whole industries have been decimated with global car sales down nearly 50%, air travel down 60%+ etc.

Small businesses have been buried. Unemployment, after discounting government “money to do nothing” schemes, is at depression levels.

The CBDs of major cities have been hollowed out.

Television and social media have been proven to be the most successful propaganda tools ever.

And finally, the jewel in the crown, over a billion people have volunteered their bodies to participate in the biggest experiment on human kind in history, upon the assurance from governments and big pharma (really!) that the new technology being used for the first time ever is perfectly safe, although it has not been properly tested yet. What could possibly go wrong?

And the 2020 Darwin Award goes to……..almost everybody. A friend has a daughter whose first birthday is today. Welcome to Generation Covid.
