I’m a player, coach, ref, and long time fan. The first ever soccer team I followed was the WNT. I have loved that team for decades. As much as some of you could care less for “sportsball”, I think sport is a wonderful proxy for teaching kids about life. You suffer, your work, you become resilient, you overcome, you deal with prima-donnas, etc. All things you’ll see when you work or own a business or generally create a life. All in an environment where failure is not the end of life. That is my opinion only.
All that said, I couldn’t be happier with their result. Fuck. Them.
If you are a pro-player and you want to show your ass and make a statement then you do you. I don’t necessarily like it, but I can respect your willingness to say something I don’t like. Conversely, if you decide to represent your country, something you don’t have to do but choose to do, then you should respect it when you represent it. Speak out all you want off the field. March for change, be the difference you want to see and all that. But when it comes time to step out as a representative, either do that proudly and respectfully or don’t fucking go. I blame the coach and the woke ass federation as much as any player however vile. Your player won’t respect your team? Bench that bitch. End of story.
I won’t watch them again until they get their shit straight, and that may mean never.

The cost of a “Radio Flyer” today is over $100 inflated US Dollars. It is now manufactured in China. I had one as a child, it was built well and lasted well beyond my youth. I found one for my children (one still made in ‘Merica) in an old Western Auto store, circa 1992.
Our “lawn” was about five acres. It was well kept and mowed often. There was a creek that one could cross to the wooded sections and that area was another eight acres with trails and other offerings for exploring.
Unfortunately, my children preferred other venues of “indoor” entertainment. They did not learn this from school.
The tee-vee had been sent to the “obsolete” route, there was no internet allowed. I gave them books and chores.They were schooled at home and other private schooling options of my choosing. I engaged them in daily conversations about what they were thinking and what they were interested in. I did my best to explain math, law, history, business and commerce… But somehow there appeared a laptop and then a sail-fawn…
Alas, the cultural influence is pervasive and coercive.
I guess I was just a mean ol’ sum bitch, teaching all of the irrelevant history and morals.
