JUST BECAUSE…

From an early age I was taught two maxims:

Just because you can, it doesn’t mean you should.

Just because someone doesn’t, it doesn’t mean they can’t.

These two statements, while coming from different points of view, are inexorably linked, much as two different sides of the same coin.
Though I never heard them actually expressed this way until I was at least in my early teens, that didn’t diminish the concepts they convey. I learned, often by very uncomfortable means, the repercussions of ignoring those truisms. Whether it was punishment or unintended consequences, the lessons were taught and reinforced.

I‘m pretty sure that practically everyone reading this has had experience with these ideas, whether receiving or administering them. These are, in combination, the basis of all proper discipline, from the tender young years when you are first able to recognize and heed them, and throughout our lives. Whether administered by human agent or, as scripture details, they come from ‘the rebukes of life’, it is a reality that cannot be ignored. Not forever, anyway.

Suffice it to say that if you’ve ever taught an asshole a lesson after he was too stupid/ignorant to recognize the warning signs, or been on the receiving end at one time or another of said warnings, then you know what I’m talking about.

And so on to the world we now live in.

We all know the people I’m talking about; the politicians, the so-called scientists, the self-appointed ‘experts’ on about every topic known to man. Whether you actually know their names, or whether they’re some faceless influence, we all know them for the psychopaths that they are.

At the core of their behavior is the reality that they have never learned, in any appreciable way, that just because you can do something, that doesn’t mean that you should. They never grasped the understanding that everything has a consequence, far more often than not unforeseen.
Just because you can combine animal and human DNA doesn’t mean that it is a particularly desirable endeavor. Just because you can pass laws willy-nilly doesn’t mean that they are effective or wise.

Just because you can tear down statues and violently (with the other psychopaths’ approval) violently protest doesn’t mean you should. Just because you can bully and/or deceive people into doing what you personally believe is the right thing to do… well, you get the drift. There’s more examples about the violations of this foundational truth than could be listed in a very long and tediously repetitive book.

These people, and vast numbers of our fellow non-elites, are the end results of decades of purposely invoked emotional retardation. Instant gratification of every ilk is now the expected norm. I want so I take, I can so I do. Just because.

The other side of the coin is that they have never, also in any appreciable way, seen the reality that restraint does not mean inability. Again, as scripture clearly expounds, evil men (for lack of any better description) think that they are safe just because they have never been held to task for their deeds. After all, if anyone was actually going to push back, you’d think that they would’ve done so by now.

There are many commenters here on the Platform that express their frustrations and bemoan the restraint demonstrated by those most able and willing (I count myself in that group) to address those deeds. That’s because we are very aware of the reality of unforeseen consequences. Once the situation turns violently physical, no-one is safe. No-one. To think otherwise shows substantial lack of experience in such matters.

The provocations we see being spewed at us, escalating in an exponentially increasing stream, are tantamount to a balloon being filled, faster and faster, with raw sewage at an ever-increasing pressure. Anyone not a complete idiot can’t help but to know where that leads, how that’s going to end. It won’t be organized, there won’t be any last warning; when it comes it will come unexpectedly and with explosive unmanageable force that will blast out in all directions. SHTF indeed.

No-one will be safe.

But we’re not the psychopaths.

We are the ones who are misunderstood by the psychopaths. They are the ones who ignore the warnings and lessons taught throughout history. We know what’s coming, we know what it’s going to be like, how horrible it’s going to be. That does not mean that the corporate ‘we’ will never finally take out the asshole who is so stupid as to keep comin’ on, who is so arrogant and cocksure that he never gives thought that this calm quiet restrained man just might be his worst nightmare.

Ironically, as happens far more often than not, those who are most in need of heeding the not-so-subtle warning signs are the very ones who will ignore them until it’s too late. They won’t know what they’ve got ahold of until the claws are in their backs and the teeth at their throats. What’s coming will be that bestial.

Just because someone doesn’t, it doesn’t mean they can’t.

Not a very rosy picture, true, but recognizing these things is our own warning. This is an unprecedented, now global, Fourth Turning, magnitudes greater in scale than any other that came before.

Large organized groups are a thing of the past. They will, in the long run (or maybe not so long nowadays), only get you killed. Let the world kill itself. Local co-operation is a good thing, amongst like-minded people.
