It all depends upon what food items they include in the equation. Statistics don’t lie only statistician do. This would include the ass-hats in d.c.. Dog food? Cat food? Hell, here the shelves are bare of canned pet food except for the high end, expensive stuff. Meat is too expensive and getting scarcer….all by design. My friend who works in the local grocery said choice beef was now $20 a lb. A small New York strip is $15.00. Last year I could get the same cut for six dollars a lb. The price has more than doubled since the senile pedophile was inserted into office.
Everything has and is going up in price and there won’t be a return to normal…and….while prices are up, the package size has decreased. What used to be a half gallon is now a little over a quart. Twenty pound bags are now fourteen pounds.
I just ordered sixteen pounds of pickling salt. No additives, just salt, which keeps forever because no additives. Use it on the table, for pickling, cooking and fermenting and brining.
May I ask where you got it from, we need salt fo processing a hog this fall and I dont want to wait too long to procure.
