The VA literally gave away our HIPAA rights to corporations and a federal judge upheld it. There was an opt-out that was not advertised and had a 30 day window and was by mail only. The wording of that opt-out (of having all of your medical information given away) was legally ambiguous. Virtually no press coverage has ever been given to the topic.
Previously the DOD had already given away all of our DNA information. Not to mention my SF86.
