I have warned about the Metaverse here lately and nobody seemed to be interested. That is where Farcebook is headed, a morph into an ultimate escape from reality. Meta is the beginning of the transition to completely turning the sheep into mush brains who don’t have a clue if they are coming or going.
VR is not a natural state of being, it will confuse gender and ruin relationships within families and marriages. The more we leave the natural world of God, the more evil humanity will become. Just imagine all the Farcebook morans unable to sort out reality from the Metaverse, a prescription for disaster.

To me, it’s old wine in new skins. Ironically, Zuck killed off the then just beginning 3D [goggle] hype when he bought Oculus 7 years ago. I was as if Microsoft had bought Apple – it became totally uncool the same moment.
So this Meta revamp reminds me more of “Andersen is now Accenture” and similar rebrandings in the hope to shed the negativity attached to the old name, which then means Faceplant was becoming a negative to many people, which is a good sign.

I see this as more than just a name change to escape a tarnished brand name. The Facebook mission is bound to the Facebook brand and that’s bound to the Facebook app, and that limits them. I doubt the Facebook apps will change much. Maybe some new colors and a new logo, but the app will exist and users will use it the same way.
The company, however, will be free to grow into all sorts of evil endeavors under a new umbrella company, Meta. Sounds very vague. Sort of like when Google created their umbrella of evil, Alphabet.
Spending megabucks for little gain – reminds me of NBC’s much ballyhooed icon change. Large sums paid to big name ‘idea’ people. Then it turns out that a state run education TV station came up with pretty much the same icon, created by one guy doodling at his desk for a couple of hours….and it preceded the NBC one. The Nebraska Education TV got paid off with some second hand equipment they couldn’t afford to pay for on their own, and NBC got the rights to the icon.
