Losing Confidence in the Pillars of Our Civilization

Losing Confidence in the Pillars of Our Civilization

Millions of citizens long ago concluded that professional sports, academia, and entertainment were no longer disinterested institutions, but far Left and deliberately hostile to Middle America.

Yet American conservatives still adamantly supported the nation’s traditional investigatory, intelligence, and military agencies – especially when they came under budgetary or cultural attacks.

Not so much anymore.

For the first time in memory, conservatives now connect the FBI hierarchy with bureaucratic bloat, political bias, and even illegality.

In the last five years, the FBI was mostly in the news for the checkered careers of James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Robert Mueller, Lisa Page, and Peter Strzok. Add in the criminality of convicted FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith.

The colossal FBI-driven “Russian collusion” hoax was marked by the leaking of confidential FBI memos, forged documents, improper surveillance, and serial disinformation.

Prior heads of the CIA and FBI, as well as the director of national intelligence, have at times either not told the truth under oath or claimed amnesia, without legal repercussions.

Mention the military to conservative Americans these days, and they unfortunately associate its leadership with the disastrous flight from Afghanistan. Few, if any, high-ranking officers have yet taken responsibility – much less resigned – for the worst military fiasco of the last half-century.

Instead, President Joe Biden and the top generals traded charges that the other was responsible for the calamity. Or both insisted the abject flight was a logistical masterpiece.

Never in U.S. history have so many retired four-star admirals and generals disparaged their president with charges of being either a traitor, a liar, a fascist, or a virtual Nazi, as occurred during the last administration.

Never has the proper advisory role of the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff been so brazenly usurped and contorted.

Never has the secretary of defense promised he would ferret out alleged “white supremacists,” without providing any evidence whatsoever of their supposedly ubiquitous presence and dangerous conspiracies.

Conservatives have always been amused by the liberal biases of the old network news and big-city print media. But they grudgingly admitted that many liberal journalists of the last century were mostly professionals. News divisions mostly reported the news rather than simply made it up.

Not so now with Big Tech and 21st-century “woke” journalism. Few reporters have yet offered apologies for helping hatch and spread the Russian collusion hoax that paralyzed the country for three years.

Few have admitted culpability for reporting as fact the various fantasies surrounding the Duke Lacrosse team’s prosecution or the Covington Catholic kids deception.

Many in the media ran uncritically with the Jussie Smollett concoction and the “hands-up-don’t shoot” Ferguson distortions. Journalists promulgated misinformation about the “white Hispanic” George Zimmerman-Trayvon Martin encounter, and doctored photos and edited tapes.

They invented the myth of the supposedly brilliant – but now utterly disgraced former Governor Andrew Cuomo – as well as the “Russian disinformation” yarn that allegedly accounted for the missing Hunter Biden laptop.

Most recently, reporters spread serial untruths surrounding the Kyle Rittenhouse trial.

For much of 2020 to even suggest that the Wuhan Institute of Virology may have played a role in the birth and spread of the COVID-19 earned media derision.

Few reporters suggested that federal health agencies such as the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, the National Institutes of Health, and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases might be disseminating contradictory or even inaccurate information about the pandemic. To believe this was happening instead earned condemnation in the media as if one were some conspiracy theorist or nut.

Rarely have communication industries – veritable utilities in the public domain – so asymmetrically censored speech and applied such one-sided standards of suppressing free expression.

Conservatives used to oppose regulating larger corporations. Now, ironically, most are calling for regulating and breaking up multibillion-dollar social media monopolies and conglomerates that suppress as much as transmit private communications.

The American criminal justice system also used to earn the respect of conservatives. Prosecuting attorneys, police chiefs, and big-city mayors were seen as custodians of the public order. They were entrusted to keep the peace, to prevent and investigate crime, and to arrest and prosecute criminals.

Again, not so much now.

After 120 days of mostly unchecked riot, arson, looting, and violent protests during the summer of 2020, the public lost confidence in their public safety agencies.

District attorneys in several major cities – Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and St. Louis – have often predicated prosecuting crimes on the basis of ideology, race, and careerism.

In the current crime wave, brazen lawbreakers enjoy de facto immunity. Mass looting goes unpunished. Indictments are often aimed as much against those who defend themselves as against criminals who attack the innocent.

Conservatives now have lost their former traditional confidence in the administration of justice, in the intelligence and investigatory agencies, in the nation’s military leadership, in the media, and the criminal justice system.

No one yet knows what the effect will be of half the country losing faith in the very pillars of American civilization.

Psalm 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into Hell, and all the nations that forget God.

This country has become steeped in sin and seems to have no desire to repent. The government has become utterly corrupt and the people have taken that corruption as a blueprint for their lives. Greed has become a way of life. Think the mall robbery recently. Even the few who were caught will be turned loose by a useless DA. Waukesha shows the depravity of this country . I will side with Joshua, as for me and my house we will serve the Lord. Joshua 24:15. Also Job 13:15 Though my redeemer slay me, yet will I trust him… Jesus is the answer to all of life’s questions.

Now the Lamb who was slain.

Simple. God is not slaying the wicked in this dispensation. He’s offering us salvation. He will slay the wicked in the future as He has done in the past. Job had no idea what God was going to do in the future. Nor did Peter… only Paul. Job prayed for a book with answers to his many questions; he still remained faithful!!!

Job 31:35 KJB… “Oh that one would hear me! behold, my desire is, that the Almighty would answer me, and that mine adversary had written a book.”

We today have the full council of God at our fingertips. How truly fortunate we are! And most treat it like just another tome…

Colossians 1:25 KJB… “Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;”

Our country is in crisis. Not only from the far left who are implementing communist tyranny at an alarming rate, but also from the so called conservatives who cannot seem to muster the courage to fight for their freedoms and human dignity. I wish I could say I have hope for the future, but all I see is things getting continually worse.

I have zero hope for the future. If people haven’t taken a hard stand by now, it’s not going to happen.

Had to go into the city yesterday. People masked up, shopping & spending money, eating out. People still traveling. No one is preparing to taking a stand. No one is willing to give up comfort. Not gonna happen. Expect to live with tyranny or die alone resisting. That’s it.

HSF…what’s the whole point of communism? To take your private property, right? It doesn’t matter if you know the right people or not, how are you going to keep your land and livestock in the future? (seeing how it doesn’t look like anyone is going to stop what’s coming)

You may be able to continue your lifestyle for the next few years, but what’s it going to look like by 2030?

I live in a rural community now. The farmers around me are selling off their land because they can no longer afford to keep it. Everyday I see more land being sold to builders who are building ugly, tiny track homes. The landowners are downsizing and needing the money out of their properties. I can only see this getting worse going forward.

I commend what you’ve been able to accomplish, but I’m not so high on hopium as you are thinking that lifestyle is the complete answer.

the gov took part of my land by condemnation (an easement). It cost them (the taxpayers nothing)…. my last comment to the asshole judge was: “then I’m going to make your decision unconstitutional” I refused the pittance that the condemnation committee required of the utility – $1. In court they offered me $16K. I told the judge who was female – that what happened was the epitome of a rape…. It wouldn’t have hurt as much if I hadn’t struggled. I guarantee you as God is my witness the next attempt to steal land from me will be anything but ‘cost free’

There are no complete answers, but there are an unlimited number of partial answers.

I have seen everything you’ve described, but I have also seen a great deal that counterbalances it. And as much as the forces of collectivist behavior are able to destroy, they can never get it all. There are too many other forces in play, too much resilience in human nature, too much space to cover and too few true believers to ever carry out their plans to fruition. And out of whatever ashes they have scattered will emerge new shoots of real liberty. That’s just how it works. We just happened to draw the short straw, historically speaking.

It had to happen to someone, embrace the suck.

I choose to be hopeful about the future because experience has demonstrated to my satisfaction that nothing lasts forever and that for every action there is always an equal and opposite reaction. We could be gone tomorrow because of a fall in the shower or a moment’s distraction on the road- how we meet our end is not of any real importance- but our actions between now and then are of utmost gravity. It’s better to do something positive than to throw in the towel.

Every thought we have, every action we take reverberates down some distant corridor we couldn’t possibly be aware of into a future that is coming with or without us.

but that’s no matter—tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther. . . . And one fine morning——

So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.

One of my mentors who’s on his deathbed used to say on these pages.
WE spent 8 years in Nam learning how to remove resisters.
“Operation Phoenix was all about combining High Tech, demoralized and tortured villagers, alphabet Spook agencies, and military to locate and (Pacify) small pockets of resisters not fully in the system.

We have since then spent trillions on perfecting those lessons in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

AA & AP.
Deep respectful admiration. How often do we read a book or article where the author talks about their former mentors. Strangely he was a lousy writer like me. We don’t waste time on niceties. Just the facts maam.
If you could have heard him speak on things spiritual you could hear a pin drop due to the silence. His courage and love of Christ just oozed from his voice. He is also always 5 or ten years ahead of the news so he is rarely welcome among Faux conservatives. He has forgotten more about the history of the white race than most people ever learned. How many people are nervy enough to discuss the pre-Adamic races. Never afraid to walk point, his greatest shortcoming was or is his refusal to suffer fools.
These days I’m reluctant to write him because he never refuses an honest question and He can barely breathe. Most of what I post here is just outright cut and paste from his stuff or his links.
He got really twisted by participating in operation Phoenix which to this day nobody even believes what they did in the Vietnam Delta in the name of democracy. He feels his pennance is to keep telling the truth regardless of ruffled feathers.
So If I sound like him I’m flattered but I’m just a nobody.

BTW. Back when he was feeling good he occasionally borrowed Anon 1’s address to torment Stucky after he was banned.

It’s important to remain optimistic, though the US Government (as we thought it was when we were young and naive) is dead, dead, dead. These times will pass, though most of us, like Mr. Hanson, will not live long enough to see the outcome of these bad times.

I must be super-smart, since the character of our leadership class – exemplified by our two-term President William Clinton- led me to abandon any hope in American ‘progress’ though government action thirty fucking years ago.

If, and I believe we are, in the time called the beginning of sorrows that would mean that God has removed His hand of blessing from this country for its open and unabashed sin. Judgment appears to have begun and once it starts it must be brought to completion. In talking to God in Jerimiah 7:16 God told Jerimiah “I tell ye pray NOT for this people. Israel had crossed the line to many times and the remnant WERE going into captivity for 70 years. Has America passed over the line of no return? I hope I am wrong but I believe I am right. Jerimiah 7:16 is repeated 2 more times in JE11:14 and JE 14:11. The fact that this same verse appears 3 times shows God’s hatred for man’s sin. I have loved the 75 years God has given me in this country and praise Him for saving me in the 35th year of my journey. I was instantly changed from an alcoholic to a child of the King.

Clearly, extra-systemic pillars will be constructed to serve that half of Americans (or more) that no longer believe the current institutions serve the people.
Monetary, security, judicial, religious, and information pillars will be constructed, to be denounced as criminal organizations by the existing regime.

Nobody knows what the results will be? Really? This article has an absurd feel to it, like someone decrying the lack of polish on the Titanic’s brass. I know what the results will be, and I’m pretty sure I’m not the smartest man that ever lived. I did stay at a Holiday Inn once and I’m pretty sure I can tell you what the results will be: America is dead.

I don’t think most Americans have suffered enough to really understand the truth. A few know. Some suspect. Most still aren’t paying attention. Conservatives are too blind to understand what they’re seeing. They still labor under the delusion the system is working. The failures and corruption are just a few bad eggs.

I used to listen to Limbaugh and it was funny to see him occasionally slip out of his well-worn status quo tracks and let an occasional bit of truth seep in, like when he announced after Barry won he wasn’t going to carry water for the Repugnant Party anymore. That promise was forgotten quickly. Or the time he realized there was a “deep state.” After he discovered it, it was no longer the sole domain of weird tinfoil hat conspiracy theorists. Those folks who pride themselves on taking the red pill still haven’t found the black one yet. And the black pill folks probably need to move on and find a darker one still. I would call it the Dead Pill, but we’ll probably need an even worse pill after it. A Blackwatch Plaid pill, or something?
