When Believing the Health Authorities Requires Denying Obvious Realities

By Thorsteinn Siglaugsson

This weekend The Daily Sceptic published two articles reviewing some studies purported to show Covid-19 vaccines are useful for countering so-called long-covid, lingering symptoms after Covid infection. The conclusion of the author, who is an ex-senior scientist with the UK government, is that the vaccinations do not in fact prevent those symptoms.

In addition one of the studies he quotes shows a great increase in health-related problems resulting from vaccination, which the authors seem to have tried to bury.

The interesting thing here is how we have, over the course of 18 months, moved from eagerly awaiting vaccines that would eradicate Covid-19 by providing herd immunity, towards failed attempts at showing that at least those vaccines prevent long-term health issues among those who catch the disease and fall ill with it, the disease they wouldn’t have caught, let alone fallen ill with, had the vaccines worked as promised.

At the same time, more and more data from all over the world show how the vaccine rollout is in fact correlated with a large spike in excess mortality. The only hope seems to be the adenovirus vaccines, the use of which was discontinued in most countries in favour of the mRNA vaccines. That may have been a premature decision, as contrary to the mRNA vaccines, they seem to lower excess mortality.

To sum it up, no protection against infection, the vaccinated seem to fall ill just as easily as the unvaccinated, even more easily, and despite some short-lived protection against death, the net effect is an increase, not a decrease in excess mortality. The last straw is trying to show that at least the vaccines prevent the rather dubious long-covid. Even this attempt fails according to The Daily Sceptic. Still, I expect we will see a wealth of studies purportedly showing some minor positive effects on all sorts of unrelated conditions; once a believer, there is always one more last straw to cling on to.

This brings us back to the other goalposts, the three-week flattening of the curve, how lockdowns were supposed to stop the virus in its tracks, how masks were supposed to do the same, and how those goalposts have moved and how there is always another excuse. If the three-week flattening of the curve didn’t work it was because the lockdowns weren’t strict enough or not put in place at the correct point in time.

If the masks didn’t work in a real-life setting this was of no consequence; the excuse was they weren’t used correctly.

If a study showed mask wearing, combined with personal hygiene measures reduced transmission by a mere 10% at best, this was a huge feat and justified blanket mandates.

If the lockdowns plunged hundreds of millions into acute poverty it wasn’t because of the lockdowns; in some mysterious way the virus itself had forbidden those people to work.

Moving goalposts and after-the-fact justifications are not a new problem. We see this everywhere. Every project manager has experience of targets being changed, of weak excuses, unrealistic plans and budgets. And of course there is always the tendency to try to cover up what happened. But even so, the stakeholders not directly responsible for the execution usually realize failure when it happens.

But this is not happening now. We, the public, are the most important stakeholder and it is not us who make the decisions or are responsible for the execution. What is new is how we unquestioningly accept every new goal, every justification, how ready we are to forget today what we were convinced of yesterday, how willingly we go for the next booster believing, truly believing the reason the last one failed to protect us was just bad luck.

We have collectively accepted a parallel world, a parallel set of truths, and however far it is from actual reality does not matter in the least. Our goal is not to eradicate the disease, not to live with it and minimize the harm it causes, our goal is to sustain our belief in the cult leaders, no matter how often they mislead us; with every lie, every shifted target, every excuse, our faith only grows stronger.

With every excuse we accept, with every denial we echo, every misguided action we support, we entangle ourselves more and more deeply; by each step, we take a higher stake in the narrative, and the higher it gets, the more fiercely we defend our parallel set of truths; the harder it becomes to break away and accept reality.

There are two British tourists in isolation down the street. I can only imagine they would be vaccinated out the wazoo to be able to fly here. Part of a tour group, I wonder if they are like Typhoid Mary spreading the flu as they go. The beer flu sure did fuk everything up. I’m sure it wasn’t part of some evil plot. As people die mysterious sudden deaths, everywhere.

Some of us were aware of the nonsense ab ovo, questioned the statements by the experts, and , as a result were binned into the one labelled “conspiracy nuts” by our more liberal relatives (which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing).
It all really started with the mandatory masks: just couldn’t understand how the wearing of a diaper could prevent/reduce the exposure/contraction of Wuhan, particularly since the diameter of the virus was 0.4 microns while the smallest hole/pore in a good mask was 80 microns.
We (and there were many who did) were expected to ingest and digest a very large, steaming pile of bovine excrement brought to us by our own (we’re only here to help) government.

The information to counter the elite narrative came from a very, very few brave souls who risked everything (McCullough, Marik, Kory, etc., etc.) I can’t believe the courage of these people and how they continue to stand up to the nonstop assault of our so-called “elites”.

I, my wife, and my son all just got over C-19 with hardly any discomfort at all. Using “horse dewormer”, zinc, quercetin, nebulized peroxide, black seed oil, and all the other things that aren’t supposed to work. I have no way of knowing what the truth of any of this is, except for one thing: once you get the clot shot, you can’t undo that. But we’re fine and likely immune to this crud forever.

Not sure why I was posted as “anonymous”, but that’s me above. Anyway, I still remember when my wife asked me why the hesitation about the “vax”. It was hard to explain, but these heroes had made me look at what was likely to be a mistake. All around me, relatives and friends were gladly lining up for the clot shots and thought we were weird for not getting in line. Again, thank all you brave souls for steering me (and more importantly, my family) clear of these killer injections. Kind of funnily, if it turns out I’m wrong, we can still get the injections. So, we’ve lost nothing and possibly gained our lives.

How do you know you guys had Covid. Seriously. A test?

I knew because their own numbers showed no pandemic- then and now.

Personally, most symptoms were exactly like a late Autumn / Winter flu-like bug that disrupted day-to-day functioning comfortably as usual.
The typical symptoms. Except w/ this version, unlike any other previous time,
the loss of olfactory and taste bud senses was noticeably affected.

And that is a long term effect of the Fauci-flu for some people; not others.

I’m still not back to 100% of taste and smell, which go hand-in-hand with trying to enjoy food, the 2nd most vital ingredient required, just behind water, for human survival.

I held off getting the ‘rona version virus from January 2020 up until contracting it in October, 2021, with immune system support we now know works…Vitamins C and D,
zinc with quercetin, a multi-vitamin, B12 complex, curcumin supplement, and Ivermectin when it hit multiple people in a group outing over 5 days in Oct. 2021.

Even though it hasn’t been isolated, there was something being spread that was just a bit more potent to some victims than the usual flu-symptom virus.

Others either fortunately never caught it, or recovered quickly, and those types always want to tout how disciplined they are with their immune system diligence and positive thinking, whilst disparaging anybody who may have suffered longer term effects.

I didn’t want to be sick, and tried valiantly to prevent getting a bug, but nevertheless, it happened. Just grateful it didn’t hit hard enough to put me in a hospital, where malpractice protocols failed many now deceased victims.

FWIW, not vaxxed.

I, we , many, have been beating on the vaxxes are not vaxxes and do not work from day one. The science showed that before the first shot was given. Now it has been more than adequately proven that they are killing tens of thousands. I guess as I said many years ago, stupid is terminal.

I operate and manage an office tower, and have ridden in elevators since 1985, crowded with people from who knows where, with children who attend schools with other children, etc&etc…
I’ve had plenty of opportunities for COVID to land on me and infect me, yet here I am, never having anything beyond seasonal allergies since Nov2019.
I rode.in a golf.cart.with the security supervisor twice, and both times within days, he had covid. Not me.
Maybe I’m a.superspreader???
I am NOT vaccinated nor will I willingly be.
Now, axe me what happwn in Nov2019…

Let’s save time and space: I had a dooozy of a flu. Was.sick for around 10 days, but only because I returned to work too soon. It may have been covid and it was tough.
Still, been fine since and the vaccines are meant to cull us.
