The latest scandal is with Father Rupnik. He is a Jesuit and apparently an acclaimed artist.

For what it’s worth, Malachi Martin was of the opinion that the Roman Catholic church would imitate Christ’s passion, i.e., agony, torture, crucifixion, death and then resurrection. I can safely say we are not in the resurrection stage, but where we lie otherwise is subject to interpretation. I was raised a Lutheran. I converted to Catholicism in my 30s.
When my Mom passed away a few years ago, I travelled and spent about a week with my Dad to be with him and help him out.
Sunday came, and we went to my old Lutheran church.
It was my first time in a Lutheran church in many years. There was a cross, but not a crucifix on display. There was a power point display during the homily. I felt like I was in a meeting at work, as we went from one slide to another. Not once did I get a sense of being in the presence of the divine.
This is not to say that the congregants are infidels or horrible people. To the contrary, they are caring, giving, considerate, good people.
But something was missing.
To say that the difference between the Lutheran/ Protestant church service and that of a Catholic Mass was stark is an understatement.
Most of what Lutherans and Catholics believe overlaps. There’s much more in common, than not. But when contrasted with a Catholic Mass, even the Novus Ordo (New Mass- non Latin that has been in place for the last 60 years), it was sorely lacking.
The Catholic church has major problems. But look at it this way:
Satanists have a “Black Mass,” which is a mockery of a Catholic mass, from start to finish. Why aren’t the Satanists jettisoning that for “Black Praise Services,” or some such? What can you infer from that?
One can agree with that and still see Bergoglio as an evil heretic at best. He also looks like Gomer Pyle.
