Can’t believe it’s been 40 years since atari came out . My favorite was missile command. Remember when my friends father bought a vcr it cost about a thousand dollars in the late 1970s .
Yeah, I remember the hot Dr Pepper commercials…..
Glad to know I was part of the Good Old Days.
I need underwear with the days on them. When I forget what day it is, I could check.
If you see Rorschach images in ’em…change ’em…or turn ’em inside out.
Maybe take some probiotics.
When I forget what day it is, I could check.
That’s why I write my name and address on mine.
When I come around, I just show the uber driver and say take me here…
I lived in Lexington, MA in the early 70’s. Probably 2 miles from that Kmart in Bedford. I do remember going in there at least a few times.
The car slot racing set up was branded Scalextric in the UK. By the time of my 40th birthday in 1997 when I was living in a pre WW2 colonial house in Singapore I had enough track to run a race over the entire ground floor of my home. As good a mate magnet as a bunch of Singapore Party Girls in little black dresses who turned up anyway as that was where the fat wallets were at.
Ended up giving it away to a bunch of aboriginal kids I admired in far North Queensland, Australia. If I told my 14yo son what I did he would be reluctant to forgive me.
I was looking at the multiple bread uses and thought of the ol bread/butter and sugar treats and then, bang, there it was on the list. I also had one of those rip cord cars (SSP?), mine was the red Mach 1 Mustang I think t was called Hustl’n Hoss. As usual, thanks for the memories! PS the girls were hotter back then too!
Cinnamon and sugar is a better combo. Little butter first then sprinkle and pop under the broiler until bubbly.
And the girls were hotter because most of them were natural (obviously not all of them).
French toast with cinnamon and sugar and real maple syrup.
I scored 13 pts. Not bad.
Have you ever gone swimming in the overflowing creek only to find yourself covered in ants everywhere?
Found myself swimming with an 8 ft rattlesnake. Guy on the bridge shot it. We didn’t even know it was there.
Oh my God. Wow, That is insane. Wish I was there! Lol.
They aren’t an issue if in the water.
we have rattlers here, few are aggressive, most just want to be left alone or to get out of your way. The real nasty ones are the smaller green juveniles, they are will stick at anything cause they’re young and stupid.
17/20
Damn. I’m old.
Same score here. Never cut & mixed blood with anyone cuz my word was enough. Don’t know what S&H greenstamps are and I’ve heard of cooties before but not a “catcher”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S%26H_Green_Stamps
We had Blue Chip Stamps (their competitor) so I gave myself credit. We used to save up and redeem books and books of those stamps. My first telescope came from them.
20 for 20
We did TV Yellow Stamps
Sent in Mallo Cup point cards
in SE Texas we had “big bonus” stamps and they were pink/red.
Anyone remember when RC cola had cash prizes under the cap?
I’m claiming 17 1/2 points. Half point for Miracle Whip sandwiches.
Yeah, I never heard of sugar sandwiches. I scored at least 15 points.
20/20 … but our variation at home on the bread and sugar sandwiches was actually called cinnamon toast … buttered bread with sugar and cinnamon and then heated until it carmelized …
We also collect not just S&H Green Stamps, but Eagle Stamps and tax stamps (OH used to issue tax stamps for the amount of tax paid) … all of these stamps were variously used by schools and churches to gain some financial reward …
I remember a drive at school for Campbell’s soup labels .
15 out of 20,never heard of sugar sandwiches, potato chip sandwiches on fridays(catholic)
Score 17 out of 20. I remember the “Cooties” but not the “Cootie Catcher”
20 for 20.
20 for 20. Don’t know if I should be happy or sad cuz geez I’m old but the memories are worth it:)
