One of the biggest problems on this site! DEMOCRACY! We live (suposedly) in a republic. Democracy is a simple mob rule situation and is a horrible form of government. Far too many people on a conservative site keep using the word democracy. Wake up!
What’s worse than democracy? A Communist Coup that takes over by Vote Fraud.
We lost the Republic with the 17th Amendment. We’re pretty much a democracy now.
The 14th Amendment didn’t help, either — at least not the way it’s been ‘interpreted’ by the Supreme Court …
Precisely ! And no one then was smart enough to understand it…which also was by design.
The 17th Amendment was the sabotage of the emergency brakes on our elevator.
The integrity of the Senate was irreparably damaged and we’re still too stupid to see it.

The reason the 17th passed is because a majority of the states had already taken the step of holding a general election and having the state legislature rubber stamp the results. So all those states had already given up their legislative power, and then voted to screw over the others (well, 36 did). We lost the republic in 1860 at least, but I would vote for the day after the Constitution was ratified.
