I used to work with kids in dozens of public schools all over the north part of LA, used to ask them all what they were reading, not one of the thousands I talked to had EVER read a book outside of school, not one

I did the same. I would ask some real smart kids what books they read for fun. Often it is none. No reading means no passion for life and learning. In time they will be dumb. My kids were non stop reading of books. All the librarians knew my daughters name by sight. We went to the library every weekend. I would have her give me the best book or two. So, we could have something to bond with. She doesn’t read books anymore as she reads enough at work being an analyst. So, the bond is pretty much gone.
That explains why 9 out of 10 of them spell disgusting as “discusting”.

What’s most surprising to me is the IQ of those with graduate degrees. 106; that’s barely above average. Most of these morons probably go on to become administrators in government and private business, which explains why governments turn everything they touch to shit and why at least half our private corporations are bankrupt and living off low interest rates.
I would guess that the very high IQ, and relatively few by comparison, engineers and scientists getting graduate degrees (you know, the fields we traditionally think of when we hear, ‘PhD’), are overwhelmed by the number of seriously low IQ social science, and anything ‘studies’ graduate degrees…
As an average, 106 seems high to me.

I’m no expert on IQ tests but my impression is that the tests in use for decades (e.g., Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale, Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scales) have proven to be valid and reliable. Most of the criticism on IQ tests relates to charges of racism; blacks tend to score low, so the tests are the problem, according to leftists. Can’t be that on average they’re fairly stupid. The other main criticism is that IQ measures only one aspect of intelligence, missing important intellectual qualities such as common sense, creativity, artistic ability, etc. This is true, but IQ is highly correlated with most aspects of “intelligence.”
As for taking IQ tests there are many online. The two mentioned above cost money, but there are similar tests available on line for free. Here’s a site that summarizes some of the best tests.

Maybe, if the IQ test added categories for aptitude in pointless violence or sports abilities the lower groups would do far better on these tests, and the higher groups would test worse.
Far too many of the graduate degrees are in education, because the diploma mill is set up to give them huge bumps in pay and their pensions.
A liberal arts education ain’t what it used to be. Amazing to me how all of them come out of college or university with opinions on exactly what Boomers did wrong. And they are really effectively taught how to show respect for deviants of all stripes. Excepting Boomers. But that is probably because we are the few they encounter that are not actually deviants.

iq and education are quite different phenomena.
The dumbing down of society should be expected and not just from education. Those who are above average (and a naturally smaller subset of the general pop) gravitate to each other. They’ll have average to above average kids and fewer of them. It’s the average to below average who will have lots of average to below average chillins and drag the average IQ down. Add in that college is now for everyone, and so long as you can get a loan, you can get a degree, the IQ of those graduating should be declining. Even in the STEM degrees.
The population as a whole is getting much dumber, so every output is shifting to the left as the peak of the curve shifts.
