In a recent interview with the German writer Fabian Scheidler, Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Seymour Hersh discussed his bombshell article that appeared in his inaugural posting on Substack, “How America Took Out the Nord Stream Pipeline”.
When Scheidler thanked Hersh for his courageous reporting, the veteran reporter shot back, “What’s so courageous about telling the truth? We’re supposed to tell the truth!”
I’ve known Sy Hersh for coming on a quarter century. While I was too young to experience first-hand the impact of his reporting on the My Lai massacre in Vietnam, I had a front row seat to the masterful job he did in bringing to light the horrible facts about what the United States was doing in the Abu Ghraib prison, in Iraq.
Legendary status isn’t given—it is earned. And Sy Hersh has earned the absolute right to be called the GOAT when it comes to investigative journalism. He is, simply put, the best.
I’ve read nearly everything Sy Hersh has written, and am able to put his considerable journalistic output in its proper historical perspective. It is therefore that I feel very comfortable in concluding that, in terms of its potential for bringing about tectonic geopolitical change, Sy’s Nord Stream reporting is his most important work ever.
The GOAT has produced what I call the Trinity of Truth.
Truth One: The President of the United States, Joe Biden, by conspiring with members of his national security team to deliberately bypass constitutionally-mandated reporting requirements to Congress regarding acts of war undertaken by the United States, has committed an impeachable offense unmatched by any other president in the history of the United States.
Truth Two: The blow-back that will occur inside Germany to the revelations put forward by Seymour Hersh that the United States carried out an economic Pearl Harbor by destroying energy infrastructure critical to the well-being of the German nation has the potential of breaking up the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the European Union (EU), upending more than eighty years of post-war European security and stability, and resulting in the diminishment of the United States on the world stage as it becomes isolated from long-time European allies that served as the foundation of the global acceptance of the so-called “rules based international order” that has served as the means by which the United States exerted global hegemony.
Truth Three: The decision to attack the Nord Stream pipeline puts a lie to the US contention that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was an unprovoked act of aggression, instead underscoring the harsh truth that the United States had a strategic plan which hinged on provoking a conflict with Russia in Ukraine to provide the geopolitical cover for ending Europe’s reliance upon cheap Russian natural gas by demonstrating that every time Russia sought a negotiated end to the crisis, whether before the invasion through implementation of the Minsk Accords, or after in the Istanbul round of talks scheduled for April 1, the United States sabotaged the effort, keeping the conflict alive long enough to implement its major objective—the destruction of Nord Stream.
In short, Sy Hersh, through his reporting, has exposed truths which have the potential of bringing down a presidency, destroying NATO, and proving Russia right in the eyes of the world.
Name one other piece of journalism in the past half-century that packs such a punch.
You can’t.
Sy Hersh is a national—no, an international—treasure, something this Trinity of Truth underscores.

His career spans over half a century and it brought to light- at least for the public that was interested in this sort of thing- how American soldiers/MIC were able to mass murder, rape, torture and abuse human beings without consequence. Oh sure, some of them may have been demoted or thrown out, but the people responsible? The ones calling the shots in Viet Nam and Iraq, the men who not only condoned such behavior, but almost certainly ordered it? They all were promoted and moved up the food chain to sinecures in the MIC.
So why show us the piles of crumpled and decaying bodies laying in ditches outside of their homes, naked infants strewn about like so muuch trash, men having their testicles chewed by dogs or forced in humiliating sexual positions by grinning lesbian Spec-4’s? Why publicize it?
To show you what they are capable of. To plant that seed in your mind and allow it to permeate your sub conscious mind. To show you who is boss.
Hersh may even believe he is some kind of crusading reporter, but his ability to continue reporting and to have a platform is indicative of his utility to the system, not his genius in avoiding their censorship. They allow him to publish because he is sending a message that they want to get out, not supress.
The dominant weapon of the current era is messaging, the control of narrative flow and its impact on the population. Guns are the swords of another era. Wars today are fought primarily in the battlespace between your ears. Would you rather have to fight a prolonged combat with armies, or would it be preferable to have people silently surrender their free will and autonomy without fring a single shot? A frightened and cowed public living in perpetual anxiety about killer balloons, clandestine midnight abductions and renditions to third world torture chambers, families poisoned in their homes by gaseous clouds of toxins- these are the control mechanisms that allows them full spectrum dominance with nothing more than a team of angry lesbians, effeminate mandarins, and cross-eyed stuttering slobs.
This isn’t a revelation, it’s a declaration and Hersh is just the mouthpiece.

I knew a guy, bright, but twisted, who declared he’d enlisted for the express purpose of having license to kill with no legal consequence, as he’d wanted to add that to his collection of life experiences. He never had opportunity to do so, and curses President Carter to this day for it.
And Hersh is one of those guys who’ve always left me wondering how he’s left alive, and where his endless stream of dope comes from.

That sucks. I actually have never had ill feelings towards the man. He seemed to me while he was in, he tried to actually practice the goals of good government, and perpetuate “domestic tranquility” and to secure the “blessings of liberty”.
Jimmy Carter’s performance in office is pretty much what many guys would have done: no clear agenda, picking a staff with no outstanding skills (e.g. Hamilton ‘Jerdan’), military and diplomatic waffling, and zero inclination to rock the boat about anything, foreign or domestic.
J.C. was probably pretty good at harvesting the Peanut Subsidy Program, but then rose to the level of his incompetence, per the Peter Principle.

It’s amazing that Hersh in his interview for a German newspaper (run this through your preferred online translator),
he gets even more entangled in discrepancies and nobody noticed it.
1. “The divers, who were trained in Panama City, could dive up to 100 meters deep without heavy equipment.” [by using that super-secret MK29 equipment]
The statement makes zero sense, in the context.
If you were diving on your own, not needing heavy equipment is a big plus; but in this case they had to transport several 100 kg of explosives down to the pipelines already using mini-subs, so adding a few extra tanks for the divers, which they could switch while down deep, makes zero difference.
2. Seymour now suddenly states eight bombs were planted, so two per pipeline (as both NS1 and NS2 consist of 2 separate pipes each). But two of them failed, and by coincidence those two were on the same pipe which then escaped unharmed.
This makes my bullshit meter almost red-line, as the chances for such randomly happening are 1 in 8!/2! or in other words 1 in 20,160.

The Hersh article is written like a B-grade spy novel, not a factual report. Other prime suspects in the plot (UK and Poland) aren’t mentioned, technical details appear fabricated, etc. The key players in his story (Blinken, Sullivan, Burns, Nuland) are operatives of the CFR/Trilateral network, which he also failed to mention.
The left and right are crapping on Hersch, that tells me he was on to something.

Great story. One of the Bond films , just by chance of course , mimics some of that story with a bad guy owned super-tanker whos bow opens up as a secret submarine launch bay.
