Boston FBI Raids Wrong Hotel Room, Detains And Interrogates Innocent Man For 45 Minutes

Via ZeroHedge

Few FBI blunders of late likely compare to what just happened in Boston last week, when Federal Agents on a training mission wound up barging into the wrong hotel room and inadvertently interrogating an innocent hotel guest who was sleeping for nearly 45 minutes.

The bizarre mistake, outlined by NPR last week, occurred during a training exercise at a Boston hotel.

An innocent guest was sleeping at his room at the Revere Hotel when Federal Agents began banging on his door “and demanding to be let in”, the report says. Agents then handcuffed the innocent man, isolated him in the shower and interrogated him for more than 45 minutes before ever realizing they had made a mistake.

Lt. Col. Mike Burns, spokesperson for U.S. Army Special Operations Command, commented on the blunder: “First and foremost, we’d like to extend our deepest apologies to the individual who was affected by the training exercise.”

The U.S. Army Special Operations Command was in tow with the FBI conducting “essential military training”. Burns continued: “The training was meant to enhance soldiers’ skills to operate in realistic and unfamiliar environments. The training team, unfortunately, entered the wrong room and detained an individual unaffiliated with the exercise.”

The FBI-Boston Division said they were “mistakenly sent” to the wrong room “based on inaccurate information”, NPR wrote. The man in the hotel room was in his 30s and was an employee of Delta Air Lines.

Boston Police were eventually called to the building and officers confirmed it was a training exercise that had gone wrong.

Delta said it was looking into “reports of an alleged incident in Boston that may involve Delta people.” They added: “We have nothing further to share at this time other than to reaffirm our commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our people.”

“The safety of civilians in [the] vicinity of our training is always our number one concern,” Burns continued.

He was not innocent; they just had not figured out his crime yet.
Another fifteen minutes and they would have had their man.

They found his wallet and ID at the last domestic terrorist meeting site, a Full Gospel Fellowship church.

So the US Army is now engaging in FBI raids on US soil and training against US citizens?

Just want to make sure I understand where we are in the game.

Posse Comitatus Restriction reads…

“Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.”

Yes.

And they are incompetent too it seems.

Dozens if not hundreds or thousands of “wrong address” raids and yet they keep happening.

Obviously no one cares to come up with a system of checks to make sure they are actually kicking in the right door. Incompetence can only explain the first couple of errors. For them to continue for DECADES really suggests it is intentional. Can’t see why, but that is how it looks.

The gatekeep is that the government should not/does not have authority to kick in anyone’s doors as a premeditated action.

The ‘wrong address’ ploy was used by DEA agents and others throughout the ’60s and ’70s to go after ‘drug dealers’ … in those days it was basically anyone with more than a couple ounces of weed …

Homes were destroyed … dogs scared … children frightened … a good time was had by all …

Someone at the top probably really gets their rockers off by the deaths of innocent people in police raids.

Militarizing the FBI. I’m wondering if its a co-operative training where the military teaches the FBI to overwhelm their ‘enemy’ with numbers and force, and the FBI teaches the military in the fine art of evidence manufacturing and instigations.

Once the IRS gets those 87,000 new ‘special agents’ up and running — and fully armed — the US Army will also be accompanying them on all audits of White folks in the ‘burbs … and in the White office parks … and in the White …

“First and foremost, we’d like to extend our deepest apologies to the individual who was affected by the training exercise.”

Why would a “training exercise” involve barging into a random hotel room and cuffing the guest and interrogating him for 45 minutes?

I don’t believe a word of this.

That’s a yearly Army Special Forces exercise that has taken place every year for decades. The people making noise about Jade Helm were just ignorant retards.

Since the SF mission is basically conducting insurgencies, it should probably be disbanded because no net good for Americans will come from it.

Everything about his botched training exercise smells like bullshit from 2000 milles away.

Wait until the Armi and the Fat Bois Institute make joint operations the norm. Auntie hates the stink of martial law and police-surveillance-state totalitarianism.

On the bright side, the Delta employee should be tickled they didn’t shoot first and ask questions later….

Some may remember the “D Boys”doing weird shit like this years back. SOAR 160 and their Delta door kickers went into places like Chicago and Detroit. There was even a report once of someone making a mini-gun run on a housing project with residents diving into bushes. These were live-fire exercises and this was an example of what happened when they missed their targets.
They would find empty or abandoned buildings and go in and reinforce the walls to prevent bullets or shrapnel from escaping their gigantic bullet trap. Then, at night they would launch an “attack” on their shooting gallery building firing mini-guns and other machine guns, sniper rifles, explosives, the whole show.
I guess the reasonoing was that this was a great MOUT-military operations urban terrain exercise. I believe it is forbidden under the Constitution.

The entire “training exercise” sounds dodgy. Since when do you break into a room without a warrant and then question the suspect there rather than taking them to a proper interrogation room with a camera? And what questions was this guy guy being grilled over? Everything about the FBI stinks nowadays.

There is never any recourse, let alone an honest apology.

I live in rural western WA, minimum 5 acre lots due to all parcels being on sceptic tanks and drain fields. Many lots are 100 plus acre family farms. Houses are spread out to say the least. In 2010, neighbors house was swat raided, DEA and ATF everywhere in large numbers. Witnessed hours of ransacking searching the house, dozens of large black garbage bags filled with looting evidence removed from the property.

Talked to the owner a couple days later (no one at the house at time of raid). They searched THE WRONG HOUSE. They were looking for a grow house, literally miles down the road. The grow house property was a two story older farmhouse with a separate barn. His house was a newer rambler. Different colors. The grow op was in the barn. His property only had the rambler on it. How the fuck they got it wrong is just mind boggling.

Kicked in walls, upturned and cut open all the furniture and cushions while ransacking searching the house.

One year later, no apology, no $, nothing. He moved out couple years later, never found out if he was reimbursed partially or at all..

My business partner and I were general contractors in WA State in the ’90s … one time we were building a house of about 2,500 square feet — ranch style — with a barn on the property.

My partner was a bit naive about things — had never been into drugs — but he was smart enough to be curious about a ‘barn’ about 100′ x 80′ with dirt floors, 400 amp electrical service, 2″ water main and skylights …
