Yes, he was lucky. He should have realized when they stopped in the street that something was going down and got the hell out of there at that point, even if he had run over one of them. I have seen people come out of a bank or ATM and sit in their car and count cash. Coming out of a bank or ATM, I immediately start my car and leave. Also, I almost always back into a parking place so that no one can easily block me in.
