He then stole Windows from Apple, made some minor improvements and began giving it away via Warez sites (pirate software sites). Once he had the “hook” set they shut down the Warez sites and locked down the licensing.

There was actual source code from the Apple Lisa OS in Windows 1.0. That’s why there was a lawsuit by Apple that was finally settled out of court in the early 90’s, if I recall correctly. I don’t think it was ever disclosed how much Apple got for that but I’d make an educated guess that Apple got royalties from Windows because in the late 80’s and early 90’s Apple was essentially broke, they came back fully self funded…..so that money came from somewhere. 🙂

I guess if you planted huge plantations of trees then cut them down and buried them in say disused open-cut mine sites that would theoretically sequester the carbon they had taken from the atmosphere which would be released if the timber were left to die back naturally and decompose.
It always amazes me that the loony green policies never seem to involve just planting billions of trees. Cutting down the trees seems to be the root cause of most negative environmental change. I would be happy to pay a 10% tax on energy if all the money was spent planting/preserving trees.
