Amidst questions surrounding whether ‘diversity and inclusion’ drives are jeopardizing airline safety, Southwest Airlines deleted a post on X celebrating an “all female flight crew.”
The post featured an on-board photo of two female pilots and four air hostesses, two of whom are black.
“All female flight Crew? Go off, queens!” stated the post.

Go off what, the plane?
After other X users began ridiculing the post, the company swiftly deleted it.
Apparently, the queens didn’t get a chance to “go off” after all.
Respondents expressed satisfaction at the company’s quick reversal.
Southwest Airlines recently hit the headlines for its policy of giving obese people a free neighboring plane seat if they demand it, even if someone else has already booked and paid for the seat.
Meanwhile, Alaska Airlines, fresh from the controversy of a faulty door blowing off their plane in mid-air, is also facing ridicule for its own obsession with gay virtue signaling.
As we highlight in the video below, Spirit AeroSystems, the company responsible for the faulty door and other parts of the Boeing 737 Max 9, is also facing a backlash for pandering to woke clichés.

Until 25-30 years ago, “Stewardesses” were attractive, slender females.
Now, it’s Flight Attendants, Firefighters, etc.
Singapore Air. Oh my. Stayed at a hotel in Chicago where a large group of flight attendants with Singapore were staying. Lovely people, mostly english speaking, very very much hwp and regular with impeccable grooming and looks of the executive sort. I was very pleased just to be around and make small talk with them.
As have those of passengers that wear pajamas and house slippers on planes and everywhere else they go.
Not exactly right to say requirements have dropped. They have been inverted. Are you ‘good’ enough to get a job at Spirit AeroSystems or Alaska Airlines? This is warfare not economic activity. The White man will be unqualified to be dog catcher any time now.

I haven’t flown for a couple of years but the last several times I flew they were all grumpy females at least in their fifties or blatantly obvious fags.
I remember when “air hostesses” were usually youngish hotties and never males, hell….I can remember when you could smoke at the back of the planes.

My first flight in ’71 was a little 30-seater that sent us all to Texas for basic training, landing amidst a violent thunderstorm. We all applauded when we touched down. It used to be a pleasure to fly, when STRONG MEN were running the airlines.

Yeah, I remember when my farm buddies would walk onto TWA with their hunting rifles and no one thought a thing about it. And the stewardesses were young and pretty, well-trained, genuinely friendly, and eager to help. Often they offered extra meals, if available, to young working guys, military guys in uniform, or college kids with big appetites. And, in retrospect, the pilots were always White and seemed more fit, more masculine, healthier, and better dressed than many of the overweight, and goofy-looking pilots I see on U.S. based airlines today. A commercial airline pilot has a millitary-style rank with certain legal authorities and emergency decision-making powers. Female pilots are interloopers and do not inspire the same level of confidence as a White man.
Back in the day many of the commercial airline pilots were former military pilots … and the airlines loved it because they were getting experienced pilots right off the bat with a lot less teaching and such by the airlines.

TWA had a training academy for stewardesses back in the ’60s. They enjoyed ample selection from the hordes of young women who applied for their dream job; lots were mid-westerners since the academy was in KC. TWA even trained for other airlines on a contract basis. But, all good things eventually end, as they closed the operation around the time airline fares were deregulated. After going through 2 bankruptcies and getting bought by American, the days of the helpful young chick gave way to older women who needed or wanted to keep working and were protected by union seniority rules-few were what a guy might want to have a relationship with. (Note: TWA did spawn lots of romantic relationships in KC-knew a couple of retired pilots who married rather attractive, younger co-workers and raised families).
Then there were the “TWA Kids” whose parent/parents worked there-most had unlimited flight privileges and many would fly wherever they wanted on space available basis. An old buddy recently told how he was in North Africa one day and the station manager was kind enough to cable his dad in KC letting him know that the kid came through that morning and was on his way back home.
Ah, for the good old days.
I have a friend who started as a stewardess for TWA in the 60’s. She stayed through the entire mess of strikes and buyouts by American and retired from American. She’s 76 now and can still get into her original uniform which she still has because she’s a rep for Clipped Wings and sometimes is at the museum for special events.
Go back far enough and the Stews had to be nurses, R Ns.
Back when I first flew (in the ’60s), flight attendants still had to be RNs … and, yes, they were all females. Then in about the late-’70s/early-’80s the gay parade began … and it all went downhill from there.
I have nothing against older women as flight attendants — hell, when I lived in Hawaii in the early-’80s, I used to bump into the Senior Flight Attendant for American Airlines — she was based in Honolulu — and at age 64 she used to swim every day from Ala Moana to Diamond Head and back …

My aunt was a stewardess for United from 1969 to her retirement in ’03. When she was hired, there were height and weight restrictions, and you had to be single. And yes, if you were to take a gander at her pics from that era, she would be considered a ‘hottie’. White go-go boots, orange mid-thigh hem dress, cute hat. When she retired-long dark blue dress and ‘sensible shoes’. She even had a custom license plate on her cars… an abbreviation of ‘Coffee, tea, or me?’ Now in her late seventies, she and my uncle are still slim and trim.
What does “go off, Queens” mean and why is queens capitalized? Are they referring to the borough in NY?

A niece flew KC135’s over the sandbox during Desert Storm and is now a pilot for Delta and a full bird in AF Reserves . I would trust her anytime. The two in the picture don’t look old enough to have enough hours to suit me.

The final video takes a stab at Spirit Aero Systems, builder of Boeing’s 737 fuselages. The Nov. 13 issue of Investor’s Business Daily carried a story about the Dubai Airshow that told of Boeing’s many problems. Included was this passage:
“Meanwhile, quality defects with Spirit’s fuselage systems have curbed Boeing’s 737 production, which already suffered from supply-chain issues during the pandemic. Some of the issues included misdrilled holes in the aft fuselage bulkhead of the 737, Boeing’s best selling jet”.
