Every garage band played this one so we could shine our belt buckles.

Not a huge Beatle fan, but it’s crazy how young they were. Harrison first auditioned when he was 15. He was only 19 when they replaced Pete Best with Ringo. They were all in their 20’s when they broke up. Same with other bands of the era. Mick Taylor was only 20 when he joined the Stones, and he quit when he was about 24. They really were some good players.

In 1971 these guys were all in their mid 20’s and already veterans.

Puttin’ up some British Blues and a fave I discovered courtesy of an older brother.
Listen for the keystrokes on the low end of the 88’s.
Beneath the video, see the Wiki link to the bio on these guys.

The all seeing eye…all Satanic captures, the price for Outrageous Fortune. Finding that out was a bitter pill for me, some years back. I catch on eventually.

Emerson Lake & Palmer never received the credit they should have – just listen to their version of Aaron Copland’s “Hoedown”. It’s magic!

“Sunny Afternoon” is one of my favorites. I had a girlfriend named Sunny, and I used to sing this song to her and we’d dance together as I did. Great memories, especially since Sunny didn’t live to see the new millennium: she died in May of 2000 at age 31 of cervical cancer, while I was in the service.

But I still have the memories, and they’re happy ones, so I think about those instead. I truly did love that girl.

And how many of these songs were written by Theodor Adorno? Most of them I would suspect…

I love the Yardbirds, Cream, The Kinks, The Who, Jethro Tull, Traffic, The Animals, The Stones, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, The Police, Yes, Deep Purple..The Zombies…even the Beatles, early stuff. I don’t think much of Brits but they have produced some fantastic musicians.

Psychedelic pioneers ‘Par Excellence’, Pink Floyd. So young in this live in Pompeii ruins performance. I’m sure that others here have traveled a million miles on this ‘transport’ in one night back in the day. Music in it’s purest form is a ‘transport’; it will take you great distances without leaving the room. The Floyd always seemed to shun the public light to work on their magic. Nicky Mason is one of the most under-rated drummers in musical history; not too shabby a vintage car/race machine preservation guy either.
