If you don’t use those books, your children and grandchildren will. You can buy recently published editions of Encyclopedia Britannica really cheaply now. Get one-whoever owns it later will thank you.
I expect that you are right that things will start to become spicy this summer, but the flames will not be raised to the high setting until the people on the other side have everything as organized as they think necessary. I hope by then I am hidden waaay out in the wooded middle of the boonies.

My edition of Britannica is from 1911, or thereabouts. You won’t have access to modern technology in your scenario, probably 19th century at best. So have reference books appropriate to what might be available in the future, not what’s available now.
Old librarian here. Britannica stayed solid through the 1970s, it was so good. But the older ones are the best.

If the trees are in foliage, hiding in the woods is probably the best place to hide from an overhead (as above the canopy) IR drone or whatnot. I think it is still possible to trade a house for a few acres that are more remote, but, yes, the window of opportunity is narrowing fast. My point about 50 to 100 years is that is how far back in time we will go. I should have said 100 to 200 years to be more accurate.
I am in a small village now, fairly far out, but I don’t see my chance of me integrating into the local tribe, and the locals are so clueless that they will not pull together for mutual defense until a roving gang kills about half of them.
I will find a place where the locals think like I do, accept me, accept that a shitstorm is coming, and are glad to have another guy who knows how to shoot a rifle and would not hesitate to shoot a predator.
