QUOTES OF THE DAY

“You will never be happy if you continue to search for what happiness consists of. You will never live if you are looking for the meaning of life.”
― Albert Camus

“Life has no meaning. Each of us has meaning and we bring it to life. It is a waste to be asking the question when you are the answer.”
― Joseph Campbell

In the beginning, God created the earth, and he looked upon it in his cosmic loneliness.

And God said, “Let Us make living creatures out of mud, so the mud can see what We have done.” And God created every living creature that now moveth, and one was man. Mud as man alone could speak. God leaned close to mud as man sat, looked around, and spoke. “What is the purpose of all this?” he asked politely.

“Everything must have a purpose?” asked God.

“Certainly,” said man.

“Then I leave it to you to think of one for all this,” said God.

And He went away.”
― Kurt Vonnegut, Cat’s Cradle

“The human race is a monotonous affair. Most people spend the greatest part of their time working in order to live, and what little freedom remains so fills them with fear that they seek out any and every means to be rid of it.”
― Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, The Sorrows of Young Werther

“Life has to be given a meaning because of the obvious fact that it has no meaning.”
― Henry Miller

“I don’t know the meaning of life. I don’t know why we are here. I think life is full of anxieties and fears and tears. It has a lot of grief in it, and it can be very grim. And I do not want to be the one who tries to tell somebody else what life is all about. To me it’s a complete mystery.”
― Charles M. Schulz, Charles M. Schulz: Conversations

These quotes are the sort of thing that made me rub feces all over myself as a kid.

These quotes are a mind bender, we don’t sit and ponder the meaning of life very often at all, because we are too busy with life.

Then it takes the death of someone we all admired to stop us for a moment, we reflect on our past, the present, and what the future will bring in this thing called life with that person gone.
Life is simple really, it’s just not easy sometimes, but it’s what we do.

Life is about opportunity – the opportunity to make of it what you will.
