…Now that the local Doom Action has calmed down, we can go back and revisit some of the International Doom ongoing during the period, including the Beheading of a Journalist by the ISIS Propaganda team, complete with videos. Videos I didn’t watch though, partially because I don’t wanna use up my bandwidth and partially because the rumour is that it will soon be a Criminal Offense to WATCH any You Tube vids dropped on by ISIS propaganda experts. I got enough issues with Black SUVs tailing me these days, I don’t need to add grist to the mill here for watching illegal Decapitation Vids.
I have read in the Blogosphere though that the Decap Vid was actually fairly Tasteful, in that it did not show real gruesome Spurting Blood Monty Python style. Probably calculated on the part of the ISIS Propaganda team that if they made it too gruesome, they couldn’t get enough eyeballls to watch it and this would hurt their Alexa Ranking. LOL. Just gruesome enough to strike TERROR into the heart of the Western audience as they recycle good old fashioned Execution Methods down there from the Middle Ages and further back to the Roman Empire…

Decapitation is probably one of the most humane ways to kill someone. If done correctly, death is instantaneous and painless.
The USA! uses the electric chair … where people fry and convulse for several minutes … and sometimes are still alive afterwards! Killing via chemicals isn’t all that nice either, as was the case about a month ago where they tried to kill the guy for an hour or so.
Of course, if the knife is dull or the executioner misses, well that would suck. One method of decapitation was by wire … I image that REALLY sucked.
When Mary, Queen of Scots, was executed at Fotheringay Castle in 1587, a clumsy headsman gave her three strokes without quite managing to sever her head. The headsman then had to saw though the skin and gristle with his sheath knife before the job could be regarded as complete. The profound, protracted groan Mary gave when the axe first hit left the horrified witnesses in no doubt that her pain was excruciating.

They want to “save the babies” but have absolutely no problem going forth and killing the exotic, or differently believing, or “guilty.” I’ve never been able to reconcile that. Never. That’s a pretty big topic — meaning, there are lots of reasons, cultural issues, spiritual ideals, and so forth. I’ll be very brief and summarize. I have expertise in this area, because I was one, once.
One the one hand there are very few true pacifist Christians, such as Mennonites. Almost all Christians will believe to some degree or another in the theory of “Justified Warfare”. Why? Because they almost have no choice. The OT pages are dripping with blood with one battle after another, many of them quite massive in terms of human loss of life, and a good portion of those wars are ordained and approved by God himself. And then in the NT man-war is replaced with Spiritual Warfare … which is just as bad, if not worse, but still replete with man-war imagery. And then in Revelation there is the Fucken Big-Assed War Of All Wars. War, war, war …. every few pages in Scripture.
It takes way too much mental gymnastics to counter each war-loving verse or incident, and claim that “God always wants peace.” Can’t be done very effectively. Easier to say that wars are part of God’s plan. Once one agrees that wars are in God’s plan, then the only question remaining is, “What is a just war?” … and not unexpectedly, the answers to that are all over the place. For example, Israel …
Which brings me to my final point. Why do Christians almost universally believe that Israel can do no wrong, no matter what atrocities they commit? Simple; brainwashing and compartmentalization.
There’s spiritual brainwashing; Israel is God’s chosen nation … Israel MUST be a physical nation in order for Jeebus to return …. and the biggie, those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who curse Israel will be cursed. Those are pretty damn big incentives.
There’s Patriotic brainwashing: the USA!USA!USA! is always right. I believe the vast majority of Christians fall in this group. A Barna Poll revealed that about 80% of Christians can’t name half of the 10 Commandments …. almost half don’t even know there are Ten!! In other words, your question assumes (I think) that most Christians are good folks, who know their Bible and what it teaches … so, why don’t they follow it? Unfortunately, most Christians are true dumb-asses … which is no different than the general population. They are CINOs (Christian In Name Only). Therefore, the bullshit their COUNTRY tells them takes precedence over what is in the Bible.
OK, what about non-Israel examples … like when the USA! drones a wedding party in Yemen and kills half a dozen children. Well, first I go back to Patriotic brainwashing. Then I go to brain compartmentalization. It works with phrases such as this; ‘God works in mysterious ways’, or ‘EVERYTHING is in God’s plan!” …. and when they see babies with arms and legs blown off, well fuckit, they’ll just stick that in a little compartment in their brain, slam that door shut, and just trust God to sort it all out. I’m not so sure about the instantaneous part. As I mentioned on another post, I’ve watched all of the beheadings carried out buy muslim swine against westerners, plus a few Asians since 9/11. At least two of them left me rather certain that death is not only NOT instantaneous but awareness seems to be at least possible after the deed is done. I’ll grant that death comes pretty damn quick but I’ll bet not quick enough for the victim. Guillotine might leave you aware longer than the muslim swine method.
A well placed bullet to the old brain pan might be the quickest way. Very high dose narcotics would be painless but I guessing it would not *look* painless. Could take a few minutes too.

I’m not sure how big a role blood pressure plays in remaining conscious, I’m sure it is considerable, but most people about to get their melons chopped off tend to hyperventilate quite a bit so oxygen is certainly plentiful.
