I THOUGHT WE DEFEATED THE TALIBAN 10 YEARS AGO

Do you ever get the feeling we don’t really want to defeat the Taliban, ISIS, Al Qaeda or any of our other made up mortal enemies and threats to our democracy? If we ever defeated these existential threats the military industrial complex profits would plunge. We can’t have that happen to our warfare welfare empire of debt. I wonder how the families of the thousands of men who have died over the last thirteen years feel about the fact they died in vain to sustain the profits of corporate arms dealers.

Taliban militants carried out attack on prosecutor’s office in northern Afghanistan on Monday. The four-hour battle claimed at least 10 lives and 10 more were wounded in the shootout.

According to deputy governor of Kunduz province, the attack began when a suicide bomber blew up a car at the gate of the compound in the city of Kunduz.

Taliban spokesman claims the attack was carried out in response to recent death sentences handed to movement prisoners.

I thought we defeated the Mexicans in the Mexican-American War in 1848. Yet, they continue to invade.

But, at least Mexico is an actual, you know, country. Been looking for Taliban on Google Maps … can’t find it. Same for Al Queda. ISIS. ISIL. ISUCK. There’s no country named ‘Terrorstan” either, but I’ve been told we’ll be fighting them for another few decades, at least.

That’s OK. We fight pretend wars. I pretend to pay taxes.

My brother was in Kabul (working for an NGO) shortly after the Northern Alliance rolled in. He assured me that the Taliban was done, forever. He knew this because they had shaved their beards – the universal sign of converting to a mindset of Western tolerance and support of women’s education and equality. I didn’t even bother telling him that the Taliban would end up back in power. Beards grow back.

I took away something different than fighting phony baloney ‘enemies’…

Yesterday, I warned about falling into the “fortress” mentality.

Build a big fort (in this case, a “compound”) and arm the hell out of everyone. It looks intimidating as hell.

But, the bad guys have all the time in the world to think up a way to defeat your fancy fort… in this case, they talked some not-so-smart bomb Hadji into driving a truckload of explosives into the front gate and detonating it. The rest of the bad guys swarmed the breech while those in the “fort” were still picking themselves up off the ground, confused and rattled, deafened by the concussion… making matters worse, those in the “fort” went for a crust type defense instead of a defense-in-depth. Breach the outer ring, and those in the fort are right fucked…

Take a lesson from this…

Admin,

Okay, that last anon post was me… something really wonky going on here on my end… first my post was there, then it was gone… now, it’s back. Then my name/email gets blanked out so I inadvertently post as anon…

I’m gonna have to look into this…

Sorry for the confusion…

It’s been acting weird for me also. No “deleted” posts … but, the voting and user-icons disappear from time to time …. just happened earlier this morning. I do two things; 1) log off 2) run CC Cleaner. Then, when I log back on, everything is OK.

Note: I run the FREE version of CC Cleaner … have been for years. It’s a GREAT little utility that “cleans” all kinds of temp files and other shit that surfing the web leaves behind. When things get weird, I run it (takes about 30 seconds), and almost always things run better afterwards.

If interested, here’s the download — https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download

PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE. By not preventing Israel to occupy Arab land and not returning Arab land in Camp David Accord was the foundation on which the whole world is suffering today. International peace, security and oil based economic crisis could have been averted. By accusing the present, this world will not pardon the past. Who is to be blamed?

Taliban, ISIS, ISIL, Al Qeada all just theater to scare the sheep into endless war. CIA projects all. There is big money in war and we don’t have the guts to stop this and call them out. Now go back to your farcebook page and talk about Kim Kartrashian’s baby.

Stuck: Seconds on CCleaner. The free vers also has a nifty tool for keeping your registry in shape. I run both frequently. And if you don’t have Malwarbytes you should download & run it. The “pro” version came with my PC and I love it, but the freebie works well 2.

Yup. CC also has tools; uninstall programs, manage the computer’s startup file, find files, clean the hard drive, and a system restore point …. all free …. and do a better job than the Windows counterparts.

I use Adaware from Lavasoft …. stops just about every known virus/maleware …. and I have found out (the hard way) that running multiple maleware programs can fuck up the computer … but, yeah, “Malwarbytes” is pretty good also.
