U of Kansas SJWs Go Ballistic at Safe Space Meeting

Like the movie zombies of World War Z, the plague of campus political correctness continues to spread insanity, rage, and mindlessness among its growing number of victims.

As reported by Heat Street, the University of Kansas Young America’s Foundation had asked students who support the concept of “safe spaces” to politely debate the topic with members of the conservative campus group last Thursday night at an event called “Stand with Me.” This was in response to a video posted by student Micha Cox, who claimed to have been harassed for being transgender as she walked across campus.

YAF apparently had anticipated some protests, but got more than the group bargained for: enraged social justice warriors screaming obscenities and verbally abusing the YAF students, calling them “racist” and “white supremacist,” lecturing them about their “white privilege,” and berating them for daring even to hold an event questioning the legitimacy of safe spaces.

What caused the SJWs to lose their ever-lovin’ minds was a slogan from conservative provocateur Ben Shapiro that the YAF had posted on Facebook: “Facts don’t care about your feelings.” Heat Street describes the resulting chaos, which one student captured on video:

At the meeting’s most volatile point, an African-American female student — believed to be student Trinity Carpenter — can be seen screaming at the YAF students about “institutional racism,” accusing them of spreading “hatred,” and blames them for benefiting from the practice of slavery.

She then forcefully implies that all of civilization is a white social construct designed to oppress her, specifically, and accuses a YAF member who stops interacting with her of exhibiting “white fragility.”

“Trans activists” off camera also berate and swear at the YAF students for using incorrect pronouns, demanding that they use “they, them, or their” to address students whose gender is not readily apparent.

Later, when the use of safe spaces is questioned, one of the SJWs completely unravels. “I am not retreating! I’m making myself safe and comfortable,” he or she says while crying and pounding his or her fists on the table in a tantrum. “If I want this space, I can have this space! It’s my right to have this space!”

When one KU YAF member uses the phrases “you guys,” the whole room is triggered: “Do not call us guys! That is a micro aggression!”

The conversation only devolves from there. One SJW declares that he or she will “tear this motherf***ing school up on a daily motherf****ing basis” until his or her demands for safe spaces are met.

The video is actually over half an hour long, but Campus Reform has helpfully edited the one above to present the highlights — or rather, lowlights — of the madness.

According to a statement from KU’s Young America’s Foundation, the group hopes to keep the dialogue with campus social justice warriors going. The problem with that is that entitled, racist, bigoted SJWs like these are not interested in dialogue; what they demand is that conservatives shut up and listen to a monologue about being victimized by conservative “hate speech” and being triggered by the very presence of straight whites — conservative or liberal — on campus. Like leftists in general, these bullies refuse to present an intellectual defense of their position (which they are incapable of doing anyway); their strategy is simply to demonize and shout down the other side.

Facts may not care about their feelings, but the radical left doesn’t care about the facts.
