I WAS WRONG

For those of you who have followed this blog for a while, you may have picked up on the signal that Admin and I generally get along well. We have very little of substance on which we disagree. So we pick on inconsequential subjects, such as his love of that stupid and insipid band Green Day, and throw nerf darts at each other. Fun. No harm, no foul. Until Joe Paterno.

I will not bore the reader on the details of our disageement on Paterno, save for the fact that I defended Paterno, while Admin did not. It was all based on what happened in a locker room incident that happened in 2002 involving Paterno’s former defensive coach Jerry Sandusky. Subsequently, I learned that there was another similar incident in 1998 involving Sandusky, who resigned in 1999, but was allowed access to the Penn State athletic facilities, where he continued to sexually assault little boys. THAT changed my mind. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.

Paterno knew about the first and second incident and said “I wish I had done more.” Yes, Joe Pa, you should have.

You have always been one of my biggest supporters from the very beginning of TBP. I freely admit that I have been in a blind rage about this for over a week. What I have not told anyone is that I have much more inside information about the Sandusky case than you can imagine. I can’t tell you how because I want to protect the privacy of the person.

What has not gotten enough press is the 1998 incident that is documented and was reported to the upper echelon of Penn State and swept under the rug. Paterno knew about that investigation too.

I’m a black and white kind of guy. I don’t believe in grey.

I’m sorry for attacking you in those previous posts as I am more emotionally invested in this story than most people.

“Right now, I’m not the football coach,” Paterno said. “And I’ve got to get used to that.”

No Joe. You arent. Idiot.

They say it takes a big man to admit his mistakes. YOU are the Big Man on Campus today. Nice!

But your work is not yet done. You still have some soul-searching and possibly self-flaggelation ahead of you before you achieve the Nirvana of full manhood.

Please admit you are wrong about Sweet Mary Jane.

We are praying for you and waiting with baited breath.

I believe that when this is all said and done you will see one of the largest cover ups in college football history. Who said it is not the crime but the cover up that will get you. Penn State is no different then the corupt corporation and governments that we have to deal with. It is all about the money, power and ego.

It has taken about a week for me to understand the full scope of the Penn State story. This is another “Drummer Boy” twist and is the ugly side of human history. This type of behavior as you are all aware is not an isolated to Penn State.

I do share your rage Admin.

SSS, we all want to be fair to someone who is accused of a crime.

Took you a little longer than Admin to cut thru the haze, see the truth and come to the same conclusion regarding guilt of the parties involved. That’s all.

Hey Administrator check this out.
I’m Considering Relocating to Sodom . . .
Posted by Ann Barnhardt – November 10, AD 2011 11:35 AM MST
. . . because I’m absolutely convinced that this culture, right now, today, is WORSE than Sodom or Gomorrah ever were. Sodom would be a step up.
It is now all over the internet that Sandusky was running a high-dollar pedophile ring, and that “Second Mile” was merely a front and means of recruiting and enslaving young boys who were then pimped to wealthy Penn State donors for sex.

Penn State should be shut down. Not just the football program – the entire university. Shut it down immediately. Any student of Penn State with any sense should be making arrangements to transfer to another university, because graduating from Penn State would necessitate that said person list Penn State on their resume, which will now be a major, major strike against that person. Why? Because they knowingly entered and subsidized a cult that worshiped an old man who “coached” a football team. And, as it turns out, that old man facilitated and enabled a massive pedophile ring. Further, said students, even after learning of this and seeing that “old man” fired, RIOTED last night IN SUPPORT OF THE CULT LEADER / PEDOPHILE RING ENABLER.

TIMELINE:

1998: Sandusky is investigated for an incident involving himself sexually assaulting a young boy in the Penn State showers. Child Protective Services investigate. The university is fully notified.

1999: Sandusky, age 55, is suddenly forced into retirement at his prime, when all previous indications were that he was the heir-apparent to Paterno, who was 72 years old at the time. The retirement package is now thought to have been in exchange for Penn State covering up Sandusky’s pedophilia. Sandusky’s pedophilia is being called a “poorly kept secret” in the world of Division I football, which explains why one of the top coaches in the nation was not even offered any other position after Penn State.

2000: Despite being retired from Penn State and no longer being in the employment of Penn State or Paterno, Sandusky has unfettered access to the Penn State facilities and travels with the team. In the fall of 2000 a janitor catches Sandusky orally raping a young boy in the football team’s showers after hours. Sandusky OBVIOUSLY had keys and passcards which gave him full access despite being no longer “employed” by PSU or Paterno.

2002: Sandusky is caught AGAIN in the showers, this time anally raping a young boy, and is caught by Mike McQueary, who is now an assistant coach. Sandusky STILL has keys and passcards to PSU facilities.

2009: Grand jury investigation begins after a 15 year old boy reported Sandusky to police. Penn State top brass, including Paterno, are called to testify. Sandusky is still seen using PSU football facilities.

Week of 10/30-11/5, 2011: Sandusky is seen working out in a PSU football weight room.

They all knew. Not only that, but Sandusky felt “safe” using the PSU football facilities and showers as his rape room, and was indeed caught repeatedly with zero consequences. Think about that. Sandusky was CAUGHT red handed in the showers sexually assaulting boys in 1998 and 2000, and there was even an investigation as a result of the 1998 incident, and yet Sandusky still felt so “safe” at PSU that he continued to bring boys there to be raped. He continued to hang around the team and be seen in the near-constant company of young boys. Sandusky’s confidence is extremely telling.

Penn State should be shut down, and anyone who knew about this should be facing down multi-decade prison sentences. Paterno should die in prison.

Pedophiles should be executed. Justice, in charity, demands it. Find every single participant in the “Second Mile” pedophile ring and let justice be done swiftly upon him.

UPDATE: POSSIBLE MURDER LINKAGE?

The Centre County District Attorney who sparred with Penn State over Sandusky, but never prosecuted, was murdered in 2005. Ray Gricar’s empty car was found in a parking lot on April 16, 2005, and his laptop, missing its hard drive, was found nearby in the Susquehanna River. Gricar’s body has never been found, and he was declared dead earlier this year.

Pedophile and sex slavery rings are some of the most dangerous, powerful and wealthy criminal organizations in the world.

Penn State did not demand indictments, prosecutions (in NY you can get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich) they gave him the keys to the locker room – and the football Kingdom.

Penn State, after catching Sandusky literally in the act of rape – 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002 continues to support his charity. Truly evil.

There’s the PR and business aspect tho- that just doesn’t make sense to me. Sandusky leveraged the Penn State brand and featured coaches, players in the charity’s programs until his arrest.

Question: Why would Penn State partner with Sandusky’s Second Mile knowing that a Grand Jury was investigating horrific charges? The GJ investigation lasted about 2 1/2 years. Who made the decision to continue Penn State’s Association with Second Mile?

No organization needs a crisis manager to advise dropping all associations to Sandusky and avoiding him like the plague. Why didn’t Penn State do that?

These decisions just don’t track. The Trustees, President, knew about the grand jury investigation. Right? Why didn’t they distance the Univ from Sandusky then?

There’s lots more to this story…

SSS, hat’s off for changing your mind and admitting you were wrong. good for you. this situation is absolutely sickening.

3 things amaze me:

1) how slow and arrogant the PSU administration has been throughout this mess. staggering.
2) mcqueary is still on staff
3) why do people jump to conclusion and blindly defend or condemn people with little information? duke lacrosse case is another example, people wanted to hate so they did, and did so blindly and stupidly.

on the other hand, i will say that as much as very little surprises me anymore, paterno’s behavior did surprise me.

Except for one thing:

“The graduate assistant should have been carrying a gun.”

Wish he’d left that out. I just can’t see graduate assistants packing in the locker room.

Even back when I worked for RCA out of Cherry Hill, NJ (across the river from Philly), I noticed that every time I passed through Pennsylvania N-S or E-W, something always smelled bad.

I never knew what it was until now. This is an offense against humanity that really deserves a firing squad or perhaps a nice public hanging to resolve. Since France donated the Statue of Liberty to us, do you suppose they could spare a guillotine for a week or so?

S~

from someone who has tons of experience with being wrong. props. way to man up.

i am not at all surprised you are willing and able to admit being wrong. your post is much appreciated.

i have a guess about paterno. long ago, maybe the ’98 incident, but likely before that, he made a decision to hush up a sandusky molestation. and since paterno’s first act of coverup, he had trapped himself on a path of repeatedly covering for his former player, longtime friend and associate. a path that became more and more difficult to exit.

not an excuse. nothing more than speculation by my imagination. to attempt to reconcile the rest of paterno’s otherwise exemplary public life. an attempt at an explanation.

+1 for title +11 for statement

+0 for your ‘to the grave’ stance. OK, consistency is a virtue — so you are half virtuous because you only see ‘illegal’ and not what the government thinks is just fine.

I mean, like … I see these comments about OWS … what do they teach kids these day … what is wrong wit these protestors … etc.

And I wonder: maybe it’s the ritalin, adderall, prozac. And whatever else for them. Then add on the so-called adult population of pill-poppers. Overdoses. As of statistics 10 years ago, boomers were far worse than millennials on drug abuse. Both kinds.
