We all know the Federal government is much more competent in conducting autopsies than local physicians who do it every day. Obama is coming back from vacation so he doesn’t waste a good crisis. He sees the opportunity to distract the masses from his disastrous immigration policy, his foreign wars, the ongoing recession for the 99%, his Obamacare clusterfuck, and his myriad of other failures that have left him with a Jimmy Carter level of support.
Justice Department to conduct independent autopsy of Missouri shooting victim
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder on Sunday ordered the Justice Department to conduct an autopsy of Michael Brown, the unarmed black teenager shot and killed by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, a spokesman said.
Justice Department spokesman Brian Fallon said Holder ordered the federal autopsy “due to the extraordinary circumstances involved in this case and at the request of the Brown family.”
The autopsy, to be performed by a federal medical examiner, would be in addition to an autopsy by Missouri state medical examiners.
Fallon said federal investigators would take into account the results of the autopsy carried out by the state during their investigation into the shooting of Brown.
Obama Putting Vacation On Hold, Returning To Washington For “Unspecified Meetings”

Earlier we joked that “it is rumored, although unlikely, that a city devolving into a state of emergency and actual curfew, will be enough for the president to take a break from his golf game and make a teleprompted statement later today.” Just a few short hours later, in a stunning development and in what may well be a first for the president, Obama announced he planned to take a break in the middle of his Martha’s Vineyard vacation and return to Washington on Sunday night for “unspecified meetings with Vice President Joe Biden and other advisers.”
According to CBS “The White House has been cagey about why the president needs to be back in Washington for those discussions. Part of the decision appears aimed at countering criticism that Obama is spending two weeks on a resort island in the midst of so many foreign and domestic crises.”
Well, he is. But one wonders if the president taking a break from taking a break will fix everything overnight. If Obama was indeed serious about fixing things, instead he should have announced that he was staying on the Vineyard for the next two years.

Those crises turned the first week of Obama’s vacation into a working holiday. He made on-camera statements on U.S. military action in Iraq and the clashes between police and protesters in Ferguson, Missouri. He called foreign leaders to discuss the tensions between Ukraine and Russia, as well as between Israel and Hamas.”

Obama is scheduled to return to Martha’s Vineyard on Tuesday and stay through next weekend.
Even though work has occupied much of Obama’s first week on vacation, he still found plenty of time to golf, go to the beach with his family and go out to dinner on the island.
He also attended a birthday party for Democratic adviser Vernon Jordan’s wife, where he spent time with former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton.
So… futures open limit up in a few hours as the algos price in even more global destruction and resulting monetary “stimulus”?

I welcome the independent autopsy. Any time there is lethal force by a police department, there should be an independent investigation and an automatic jury trial. The state attorney down here in Miami never ever puts cops on trial (and they “take down a perp” about once a week) unless its so some kind of sex crime.
The mid class is getting tired of getting the same treatment usually reserved for the poor. I’m expecting lots of riots related to militarized police unless they can successfully deflect this into a rogue, racist cop situation. Of course, the way the po po have handled this so far, no one can trust anything coming out of that department (and that’s even if the perp was in fact guilty of provoking them).

Stucky – good posting. When you watch the videos of Mike Brown in the convenience store stealing the cigars, he “COMES BACK” at the convenience store clerk as well: he pushes the clerk near the exit doors, then turns around and comes back towards the clerk, trying to intimidate him.
So when you hear that he turned back around on the cop, and started coming towards the cop, it makes sense. He’d already exhibited this behaviour in the convenience store. He’s a big guy, and it’s probably how he always deals with people who aren’t giving him his way.
