Two days ago he beat to death a 90 year old woman.
Tristan said he lost his temper when he went into the woman’s room to ask her a question and she yelled at him.
Authorities said the boy held the woman down with a cane and then punched her in the throat and stomach.
The boy told a state trooper that he was ‘only trying to hurt her.’
Prosecutors had said that they had no choice but to charge him as an adult. In Pennsylvania, homicide charges must be filed in adult court.
I’m almost tempted to say, “FRY HIS ASS IN THE CHAIR!“. But, I will settle for life in prison, without the possibility of parole.
Don’t be fooled by the baby face. He has a monster’s heart. Soul-less. Some people are just born bad. He is one of them. 10 year old brutal murderers can’t be “fixed”. Lock him up …. throw away the key. And, yes, if this happened to my son, I would say the same thing.

My wife has a couple of psych degrees – did an internship in some mental hospital in Conneticut. They had a playground for the fucked up kids in there, who killed their siblings, etc.

Capital punishment is too dangerous a power to be administered by the political collective. The only people who should exercise such power are individuals who, when confronted with an unprovoked life-threatening attack, rip the attackers heart out with a dull spoon or whatever other tool is available.
Said individual should then have to justify their act to reasonable Monday Morning Quarterbacks, just to keep the whole thing from turning to chaos.
In this case, it’s too late. The monster did the deed. He is in all likelihood truly feral.

I am not in favor of putting this kid behind bars for life because I’m a hard-ass law&order asshole. I favor prison because I honestly believe he’s beyond help … a kid just “born bad”.
Suppose this kid was missing a leg. All the lovey-dovey nurture in the world won’t turn him into a two-legged kid. What I’m saying is — “You can’t fix something that’s not there.”
And what this kid lacks, is empathy. How do I know? He’s 10, and he MURDERED a defenseless woman simply because the old lady yelled at him. Also, not even the kid’s mother wants him back in the home. There’s some serious shit going on we don’t know about.

People with advanced schizophrenia and autism suffer from lack of empathy. Brain scans reveal these people have brain tumors, lesions, or and/or other deficits in the AIC. Can autism be fixed with lots and lots of love? Nope, not really.
Some might say – “Well, you see, it’s not his fault. He has a brain disease. So, give him a break.” To which I say, “bullshit”. Not everyone with brain disease / personality disorders is violent. Why? I don’t know. What I DO know is that this kid has a combination of some Brain Deficit (that’s not fixable) AND a fuckin’ violent streak. And I am to believe that somehow this lack of empathy coupled with violence will miraculously go away once he reaches 18, 21, or whatever. WHAT is the mechanism for that? There’s no evidence it works that way. Throw away the key.
Question is, would he do it again and I think that would be a yes. He’s a ten year old murderer who will no doubt be a twenty, thirty, etc. year old murderer.
I have questions about the death penalty but in cases such as this with a confession I think it’s justified.

I’ll assume the kid has likely exhibited severe anger issues before, considering his parents don’t want him back in their custody. Therefore, my guess is that he’s a sociopath, meaning he’s not capable of feeling empathy, sympathy, guilt, etc. Unfortunately, that’s a mental problem which hard-wired…and cannot be changed or fixed. So, the best thing to do probably, is remove him from of society permanently.
I personally know a child who was a monster capable of equally criminal behavior. Was the result of two druggies who should have never been allowed to breed and then refused to allow the child to have any correction or discipline. After a couple stints in juvenile detention and a longer run in prison, he now resides in the shadows of my hometown, supported by his dogooderwannabe granny, who prays for his redemption every day as she hands him money for his habit.
Let’s don’t go there.
Life in prison… fine by me. Until you have looked into the eyes of one of these soulless children (as I have) and seen the result of their heinous behavior, balance your compassion with a measure of caution. Sociopaths are not all over 18.

This is kinda what I mentioned last week. Those of you who want to support these psychos in prison forever need to pony up the money to do so or have them come live with you and you assume responsibility for them. I’m willing to chip in while they undergo testing and trial and even a few appeals but after that I’m in for my share of the bullet or length of rope only.

Without prodding, or seeing what people wrote here, she basically agreed; this kind of derangement can rarely be fixed, if at all.
