Would you believe that the FBI conducted a two year investigation into whether someone should go to jail for “Louie Louie.”? Yeah, the song. A threat to national security and order!

Can you imagine what kind of blueballed hall monitor dipshit fuckhead decided that there should be an FBI investigation at all much less one that lasted for two years?
I can.
With all the power of the FBI’s labs, nobody could figure out what the lyrics were! (Letter) It seems that at least four field offices, plus the Washington headquarters, and at least two separate analysis labs listened to the record again and again, and they couldn’t figure it out.
Yep, we broke enemy codes in World War II, but the collective might of American superpower intelligence could not figure out the words to Louie Louie. The same guys who were supposedly keeping us safe from the Soviet menace were sitting there with 45 RPM records and could not discern the meaning of the song. I shudder to think what might have happened if the Soviets really decided to screw with us back then.
Finally, some genius decided (after more than a year of investigation and lab analysis) to just ask the record company what the lyrics were.
That helped us determine that maybe the FBI was wasting its time. (report here) Of course, that did not end things, because another office still referred it to the lab for analysis. (memorandum)
And, they still didn’t have the lyrics right.
Finally, some real genius thought of the idea of taking a stroll down to the copyright office — you know, the one down the street from the FBI.
You see, the song was registered, and the lyric sheet was right there sitting in a public record. So once they figured that out , our tax dollars finally gave us this definitive determination of the lyrics to Louie Louie. (investigation sheet) Yep, years of research, lab techs slowing down the record, all the powers of the federal government, and finally someone thought to walk over to the copyright office and take a look
They not only walk amongst US . but work for US too.

Simple fix! Let the whole dame thing expire.
If it is necessary (a subject of debate between the House and Senate) then draw it up to be in complete Constitutional limitations and effective.
Then, to be safe, require all male citizens (and any females who care to apply) over the age of 18 of be fully trained and qualified in the use and maintenane of firearms, make a Federal Law that supersedes all State laws on the open carry of firearms and forget terrorism in the US of A.
First Islamic Asshole who hollars “Allah Akbar. and draws a weapon will find himself full of holes.
Accidents? Crazies? sure – bound to happen.. I’ll take my chance with that very, very small percentage of turkeys that being prevented by my own “gubermint” trying to make me a target by being unarmed and the attacker KNOWING I’m unarmed and hence of no danger to him..
Wild West? Nah! What you will find is that United States will rapidly become the more polite country in the world with men opening doors for the ladies who say, “thanks you”, and ladies doing the same for men who will also say “Much appreciated!”.
There is no victim like an unarmed victim or a victim who has no clue as to how to defend him/herself.

You are right – open carry of firearms should be legal in all states. No exceptions.

Once again Judge Nope-To America slanders the American Congress and our Presidents.
Do you really think we need a Constitution to protect us from our government and from our Congressmen and Senators who we know are looking out for our rights and liberties?
Don’t you think that the best judgments of our leaders can be relied on more than some 225 year old goose quill scratching that neither you nor other Americans know what it says or means?
The Patriot Act only applies against tedrrorist Muslins.
Do you have a single friend or acquaintance whose freedoms have been traduced by the Patriot Act? No, and neither do I. It doesn’t affect us, it only applies to other people.
You’d think that JQ would have something better to do than continually ridicule or question America’s Chosen People, our leaders, and America’s Best and Brightest.
Take up fantasy baseball, basketball, or football JIm. Follow the Eagles closely; cheer for the Phillies because they need your suport; and focus on other Philadelphia sports teams. Following athletic teams and players and celebrities is much more satisfying than pushing political views that almost no on cares anything about.
