Saw him with Buddy Guy once. Like seeing Muddy Waters and Koko Taylor, it’s good to know I saw them before it was too late.

A blues legend. Will Lucille find a new owner?
BB King is dead, Dick Cheney is alive. Unfair.

I saw B B 17 times . The first time in 1977 at Harrah’s in Lake Tahoe . I snuck in to watch him perform…a funny story .
In 2003 I saw him with Jeff Beck. As I said in an earlier post it was an eargasm of a night . I had front row seats that night. As a guitar player I wanted to see two om idols up close and personal . I had a poster made up for B B. It read
B B, I’m Always Smiling When You’re Singing The Blues ” . He looked at the poster and gave me a thumbs up and a smile .
A young man in the audience that night came up to the stage with a guitar in his hand . B B had the security bring him up on the stage . He asked the boy,” Son,how old are you ” ? “Seven”, the boy said. B B told him, ” I was about your age when I first met Lucille ” . He signed his guitar and that young man had a smile from ear to ear .

Wife & I saw him at the Doheny Blues Festival at Dana Point in 2006. He was outta sight. R.I.P. Mr. King, you will be sorely missed.

The world is a sadder place without BB King. I saw him a couple of times. The most recent was about 10 years ago and he had a group of up and coming musicians with him and he was showcasing THEIR work interspersed with his tunes. I’m damn glad I got to see him. Lucille should go to the Smithsonian but that seems wrong considering my low and deteriorating opinion of government. Give it to a deserving & talented up and comer and let the music continue to flow. It’s just an artifact otherwise. Besides, I think there have been many “Lucille’s” over the years.

The Eagles? What’s next – Jackson fucking Browne? The best band ever to come out of California: X, but 3/4 of them were originally from Illinois.

Saw BB in late 80s. He played an entire 30 minute concert. Wow! Sarcasm off.
Would not have crossed the street to see him again, as a result.
