I just got the following email from some government drone at my school district today:
North Penn School District, School Nutrition Services is participating in the federally funded Summer Food Service Program. This program allows School Nutrition Services to provide free lunch to all children under the age of 18 in the North Penn community. We have set up (3) locations that will be operating from June 22, 2015 through August 21, 2015, Monday through Friday and will have free lunches for all interested children.
WTF is going on in this country? Why is the federal government using your tax dollars to feed every kid in America under the age of 18? Are children really starving in this country? Aren’t mothers and fathers responsible for feeding their kids anymore? They have enough money for their monthly cell phone, cable, auto loan, and liquor bills, but they can’t feed their kids?
Obama and his socialist minions are spending $500 million per year of money we don’t have on this “program”. What a pathetic joke this country has become. No self respect. No self reliance. No shame. The government breeds dependency and obedience amongst the ignorant masses as we steadily sacrifice freedom and liberty for safety, sustenance, and security.

Had you gotten to the Post Office before it closed the USPS would have worked fine for you. Did you not know that the branches closed at 2? Now that you know, you will be able to get good service by scheduling your future mailings appropriately.
@ ACE… Haha… Good point. No, I did not know and now I do. Apparently the reduction in hours occurred without my permission the first of June.
However, talking to the farmers nearby about the issue has informed me that by going to a part-time schedule, the post offices have had to hire people to replace the postmasters, who retired rather than go to part-time. I stopped there today and got my first look at my new postmaster. Wow… I think he’s pushing 450 lbs.
Oh, well… my son will get his apple pie and be reassured that I’m proud of him. Next time, I’ll UPS it.
By the way, just because I am that kind of person, I want to let folks know that I mixed some Worcestershire sauce with that apple juice, marinated those chops and grilled them for some of the best pork chops I’ve had ever. And since the chops came from the local butcher shop run by a Mennonite family, I’m pretty sure they aren’t toxic. I’m also sure the pigs lived a happy life until, as Hardscrabble Farmer might say, it ended.
I KNOW this may seem to be a hijack to some of you, but whenever I see articles about the government promising free lunches, it inspires me to increase my efforts to rely only on myself for food. And, by extension, getting healthy wholesome food to my son, trapped as he is inside the enemy lines in the D.C./Baltimore metro area.
Have a wonderful Fathers’ Day… all of you, even the putzes here. Because the Putzes here at TBP are way better than the class acts I’ve been exposed to lately.
