Walter William DeLeon remained in critical condition on Tuesday, after Los Angeles police officers shot him four times when he waved them over for help on Friday night.The officers reportedly believed the 48-year-old father of two had a gun when he flagged them down with a towel wrapped around his hand. After the officers shot DeLeon they established that he was not carrying a weapon.

Thinking back over the last 50 or so years, it seems to me that this all got started back when women were forced on the police forces.
They had to lower physical standards so women could qualify which meant they had to adopt new training standards for use of force since the women couldn’t defend themselves and fight it out with a suspect if necessary to arrest him.
So now we have standards that let a 98 pound woman take on a man of any size and condition by simply resorting to deadly force as a first response to resistance and resistance being redefined to anything that can be put into the category of failing to comply fully and with out the slightest questioning of an order to avoid any chance of actual resistance.
But we’ve achieved equality.
Anyone can shoot someone with a a gun – Men, Women, Children, all the same and all equal behind a gun.
Russia is strong has it right. The problem is we have a bunch of trigger-happy cops who shoot first and ask questions later. That’s where the gun control effort should be focused…on the police!
I have a very good friend who is a cop and has been for almost 40 years. He is a dead shot with a pistol but has never had to draw it in the line of duty through he served as a highway patrolman, Marine police officer (like in a boat, alone) and a deputy sheriff, in a very violent state. He has made hundreds of arrests and traffic stops. How has he done this? Simple. He is endowed with common sense, a strong presence and a manner that calms rather than worsens a tense situation. Even ghetto blacks tend to call him “Sir” without thinking about it. Needless to say, he is disgusted by what has happened to many police forces. God has this country changed!

I understand it is the fashion here at the TBP to blame us women for EVERYTHING, but, sorry to inform you, police brutality is as old as the hills, and the further back in our history you go, the more brutish they get.
The notorious John Burge of Chicago was torturing ( and some say murdering) suspects a long time before the first woman was ever hired onto the force. That it has taken 45 years to bring this cop-thug to justice says a lot for how tolerant the dominant population was of police brutality as long as no one from THEIR group bore the brunt of it. Same thing with St. Louis’s notorious 3rd District, appropriately named the Lynch St District, because it has a 90- year reputation for “excessive force”, and it is a place you never want to be drunk in, or look weird in. Women were routinely raped by these thugs for many decades, and people beaten half to death, or totally to death, in holdover,but it wasn’t until the 70s, when civil rights groups started protesting the commonplace, daily brutality, and “liberal” media started publicizing it, that anyone knew how bad it was. That was when one drunk was viciously beaten to death in holdover, and the St Louis medical examiner found a bootprint on the guy’s breastbone, but was terrorized into writing “accidental death” on the death certificate by the cop-thugs present at the post-mortem examination.
Go further back, to 1900 or thereabouts, and you have the police turning brutally on workers striking for higher wages, as in the Pullman strike in that era. Law enforcement in that era did not even pretend to be protectors of the “people”- it was flat out the tool of the wealthy and powerful, used to put down any dissent.
