This is exactly what I was trying to say in Stucky’s “no more rhinos” article. I think. I’m pretty smart for a guy with no smart phone. I need to get into the sex robot business.

There was a crazy sounding story in the WSJ back in the early 70’s, it described a system of electronic sensors that could be deployed in a war zone to track enemy movement. Then, in the late 70’s a classmate who worked on satellite surveilance disclosed that satellites could image things as small as a dime on the planet surface, what a crazy idea, we thought because the only pics we’d seen back then were black and white x-ray looking photos that required interpreters.

Damn, when they put those implants in our brains, I’m going to miss staring at the sun.

Great song, Coyote. Crank it up on a good audio system and it has a lot of “depth”.

I remember back in probably ’77 or ’78 having a vivid dream that I went into a record store and bought an “album” that consisted of a 4 color printed cardboard jacket (similar to vinyl of the day but smaller) with a pocket for something that looked a lot like an SD card. In the dream you would insert the card into your stereo player and it would read the songs into memory, then you would toss the memory card.

First computer game I played was with the mainframe at Morehead State in the computer lab. It was an open-ended stock market investment simulation.

I still have a pay as you go flip phone with a credit of $400 something since I never use then that. I downloaded a smartphone emulator so I can check to see how my website looks to that market.

My audio sensors are about as deteriorated as some folk’s retinas but it sounds good on the headphones. Songs don’t sound as rich now as I recall them. Of course, nothing is as good as it was in our teens.

A guy that works for me is convinced we are nothing more than an experiment by an alien race.

They created us, mess with us, just to see what we will do next and the day they visit is when they are finally tired of us, erase us and start another experiment.

Ah……Ol’ Blue Eyes, thanks.

This paradigm may come to pass for some, but I and many others reject the control state. If a person has no connection with the natural world it is very easy to convince them that the electronic leviathan is their friend. It truly is an illusion. The mind-numbed automatons who so willingly give themselves to master control see no alternative.

If, however, one is fortunate enough to spend most of their time in the real world, the distinction between reality and lie becomes easily discerned. Go outside and disconnect. Take your shoes off and let your feet touch the earth. Consider the incredibly complex yet uncomplicated design of creation. The miracle IS life in all its manifestations, brought to you by the Universe/Creator/Nature so that we may live our lives as humans. Work like your life depends on it, because it probably does.

The “Mark” has already been well received by most. How long before one cannot buy or sell without the stamp of the state? Time grows short in our little garden. They can take only what you give them. They can never have what is most important. Resist.

Sounds like the Reality Bug, the fourth book in the Pendragon series by D. J. MacHale, may not be science fiction after all….or the holodeck in the Star Trek universe.

El Coyote: Where does your Music Rank?

Music vs intelligence: Can music make you dumb?

Greetings,

That video posits an interesting scenario. After all, within a few very short years, we will have the computational power to create entire worlds populated with digital sentient beings. I can only imagine that sociologists will run very in-depth simulations to see how various societies will act under a set of constraints. Think of all the fun you could have by, say, running a simulation whereas all the leaders are sociopaths & psychopaths. How about continual warfare, resource scarcity and religious fanaticism?

This isn’t some far fetched fantasy but something that will be possible very very soon. Now, if it something that we are able to do then nothing is off of the table – nothing. We can not, conclusively, state that this isn’t such an experiment.

@yashure

How is that crap?

Atoms are electrical devices. Particles only “exist” while under observation. A proven fact – look it up.
Since atoms are the building blocks of our universe then that means that the universe is an electrical device.
Your brain is an electrical device.

Once you accept those simple facts then anything is possible – anything.

NickelthroweR,

So you could be having sex with a perfectly good sex robot – only to be accosted by a sudden realization that it’s a digital, simulated sex robot and not even a real sex robot. That’s messed up.

Tristana says: El Coyote: Where does your Music Rank?

I was ruined early on by Dr Demento, never had a chance to select the music that could make me smart. Thanks for the link!
