I hate to point out errors but…. The article says you can get an 818 sq/ft apt in Detroit for $769.

Actually you can buy an entire block of homes in Detroit for $769!

We get $850 for my wife’s old apartment of about 650 sq. ft. in Denver…and we are probably under market value. We currently have great renters so it’s worth it.

Greetings,

I live North of L.A. and that amount of money might give you a place in someone’s garage if you are lucky. It cost that much to park a boat in a slip.

285 SQft studio in San Francisco for $769—I don’t think so.

I’m in San Jose which is substantially less expensive than San Francisco and I have a 325 SQft studio that is rented for $1300 a month.

Oh and that does not include utilities by the way, but it does included a parking space.

In San Francisco and New York a parking space will usually be an extra cost.

Screw San Jose! MY listing is better! 2BR/2 full baths, 1,125 square feet for $1,100 a month if you sign a 2-year lease. Hardwood floors, stainless steel, a pool, it’s gorgeous! bb, you could bring your cat.

Yes, but what part of Dallas is that apt in?

Ghetto or section 8 heavy would be my guess. Seester and her Boyfriend (soon to wed) have a condo off Bass Pro in Garland and get 875. Crax haids galore. Yes, I do razz them about being slum lords and they do, for now, have a good renter, but after having to install a tub safety bar and listening to him (retired Navy) he isn’t much interested in renewing two year lease.

Eh? Kill Bill, I am in Dallas COUNTY – Iowa, not Texas. My rental condo is in a community that is 75% homeowners.

Your concern for the old folks is touching. And you’ll be pleased to know that the old person in this circumstance would be me, the BLOOD sucking PARASITE, so no old people are being taken advantage of here, thank you very much.

I rent out 3bd 2ba MHs with large shed, double parking and a yard( a real yard with privacy fence, grass ,trees) for 750/mo in CO. The last one I had come available I had people begging me so I settled on the one that offered to paint it for me. It was a nice gesture but I paid him and now we are both happy.

So, based on the chart, we all should move to Detroit because cost of living is so cheap there.

I guess rents are inversely proportional to the odds of getting shot by a yoof.

Large 3 BR, 2 bathroom house $500 / month . Well water free. Electricity bill under $30. Internet bill $25.

5 miles from the city center. Of course, you have to move to northern Thailand to get it.

I am seriously considering moving into a new 3br/2bath house that is smaller (much less grass to cut). Rent $200 / month.

Crime ??? We don’t even lock our doors when we go out. Murder rate — close to zero.
