Meet Melissa Click. Assistant Professor of Mass Media at the University of Missouri, and woman who was caught on video asking for “muscle” in order to physically remove a reporter from reporting on a story in a public place. Yes ladies and gentleman, welcome to America’s college campuses.
If you haven’t seen this video, you must watch it immediately, and trust me, you need to watch it from beginning to end to truly understanding how dangerous Melissa’s Click’s request is. She is essentially advocating a mob of student inflict violence upon another student merely for taking pictures in public.
Thanks to this, what began as protests against systemic racism at the school has morphed into another prime example of how college campuses have devolved into ignorant, pro-censorship intellectual wastelands.
Now that you’ve watched the video, here’s some background on the incident and the key players involved from the New York Times:
COLUMBIA, Mo. — A video that showed University of Missouri protesters restricting a student photographer’s access to a public area of campus on Monday ignited discussions about press freedom.
Tim Tai, a student photographer on freelance assignment for ESPN, was trying to take photos of a small tent city that protesters had created on a campus quad. Concerned Student 1950, an activist group that formed to push for increased awareness and action around racial issues on campus, did not want reporters near the encampment.
Reporters are supposed to go precisely where they are not wanted. Was “Concerned Student 1950” also opposed to reporters trying to get near the front lines during the Ferguson protests? The police demanded their space as well, and by these students’ twisted, infantile logic, the police should get their way.
Protesters blocked Mr. Tai’s view and argued with him, eventually pushing him away. At one point, they chanted, “Hey hey, ho ho, reporters have got to go.”
Yes, in 2015 students are so mentally damaged that they think it’s rebellious and brave to chant slogans against the First Amendment.
“What is so hard about respecting our wishes?” one protester asked.
“Because I have a job to do,” Mr. Tai answered. That elicited a retort: “We don’t care about your job.”
As the video nears its end, the person taking the video, Mark Schierbecker, emerged from the scrum and approached a woman, later identified as an assistant professor of mass media, Melissa Click, close to the tents. When he revealed that he was a journalist, Ms. Click appeared to grab at his camera.
She then yelled, “Who wants to help me get this reporter out of here? I need some muscle over here.”
This woman should be filing for unemployment benefits yesterday.
As the video circulated online, Mr. Tai, who won an award in June for Best Single Photograph in a college journalism awards program, received widespread support, much of it from members of the news media.
Indeed, this is what Mr. Tai generously had to say about the incident on Twitter:
A lot of hardworking journalists were physically blocked from doing their jobs – I just happened to be on video. I didn’t ask for notoriety.
I don’t have any ill will toward the people in the video. I think they had good intentions though I’m not sure why it resorted to shoving.

This is what passes as a professor these days. Oh, has academia fallen in our country.
If anyone ever wondered how the Nazis got into power so easily then this should answer that question forever. Remember that the Nazis were Leftists. They followed all the tenets of the progressives that we see today.
And Hitler didn’t drink, didn’t smoke, was a vegetarian and he loved animals. The perfect role model for the people on that campus. He didn’t like the free media and he had a solution for those who disagreed with him or that he didn’t like that involved “some muscle”.
Saw this story earlier but first time I’ve watched the video. WOW was that a clusterfuck of idiocy, SJWs and incitement to violence. I’m glad that one of the protagonists has resigned.
Watch the video, and remember it. Know it as a warning of how dangerous a bunch of loser idiots can be when they don’t recognize or care about their loser-idiot status.
Persnickety- She resigned from her post as an assistant professor. She still works for the University. She is a disgrace and should be shunned from the profession as should all these childish middle-aged women who’ve never worked in the private sector.
I’m sorry to say I think she got her PhD. from U Mass, fortunately it looks like she has resigned. No doubt another bastion of liberalism will pick her up off of waivers. Sorry about that, but we do have some strange exports from Massachusetts.

Hitler never personally killed anybody and I am beginning to believe the whole story of the so called holocaust is complete bullshit propaganda .When you see all those bodies in those pictures supposedly showing genocide those people really died from diseases. There is very little real evidence to support what we have been told about the so called death camps. Most of the holocaust story just doesn’t hold up.
I used to work with Carrot Top, didn’t know he had become a professor of womyn’s studies. Look like he gave up weight lifting, too.

If I were the father of one of the students blocking the camera, especially one of the vapid looking blondes, I would cut them off after a sharp lesson in how thousands of Americans had died over the years to protect those freedoms they are now so willingly giving up.

Secondly, the professoress in question is in no way the exception. They are all nearly like this. I could tell you some stories. But I am not in the storytelling mood. Suffice to say that the academy is packed with this type. Most of them belong in prison or in a work camp.
The stupid bitch apologized to the reporter in person and he accepted, and resigned her special position, as a commenter noted above. But she should have been fired.
These people are so fucking deluded, it’s mind blowing. They are all for rights alright, but mainly for their right to do whatever the fuck they want when they want it, regardless of the law. Dangerous idiots indeed.

She did no such thing. Click was a “courtesy” professor, whatever the hell that is, at the Mizzou School of Journalism. THAT’s the position she resigned from, and the Department of Journalism is NOT responding to requests on whether she was paid for her courtesy professorship appointment. She is an assistant professor at the Department of Communications, which is “reviewing her actions” at the protest rally.
We all know how that will review will end. This bitch will live to protest another day and egregiously violate the Constitution’s protection of a free press, something she is supposed to support. And get paid for it by the residents of Missouri.

Ah, bb, for once, I hope this one time only, I am as much at a loss and confused as you. I was mildly intrigued by Archie’s directive to you and did a little digging. To get HSF’s name is trivial–the gentleman hosts a website, after all–but here the mystery begins. HSF has a name that is almost IDENTICAL (anagrammatic with but one letter transposed) to a very well-known comedian (I hear THIS gentleman on the radio in Denver on a regular basis). In fact, when one enters HSF name into youtube, it autocorrects to the other gentleman’s name. Curious. Searching the correct name did not (with just a cursory look) produce any videos of HSF comedic triumphs.
Were it anyone else here, I would be fully convinced that we had stumbled upon an old TBP inside joke of some kind, however, I have heard HSF mention being a stand-up comedian before and he has never been one to boast or even begin to stretch the truth about himself. Curiouser and curiouser.
Are we to believe this very coincidental closeness of moniker… or, perhaps less likely, HSF has been involved in a years long ruse with other TPBers. I can find no evidence of HSF’s alleged comedy career–every search reveals only the HSF doppelgänger.

Drud is correct. I can’t remember exactly how I found it but it took me a long time. Look, have you ever stumbled upon an old paper of yours, or maybe an old painting you made while in college? Being a pack rat of sorts I recently found an essay I wrote 20 years ago. I was not impressed. HSF himself has to give me the go ahead to link it. Of course, there is a minute chance it isn’t him.

Following racial protests which forced the resignation of Missouri University President Tim Wolfe and Chancellor R. Bowen Loftin, both of whom were just dripping with evil, irredeemable white privilege, the University Police are taking bold steps to restore order, get the black members of the football team to suit up again (really), and save the life of a valiant black grad student who went on a hunger strike for almost a week. Which, technically, is more of a diet than hunger strike.
Specifically, the University Police have issued a campus wide call for students to contact them immediately in case they are exposed, or even feel they are exposed, to “hateful or hurtful speech.” The police are asking for descriptions, license plate numbers and, if possible, photographs of anyone suspected of saying something which is potentially hurtful.
While hurtful speech has not been specifically defined (indeed, it depends entirely on the “feelings” of the aggrieved party) it presumably will bring a halt to use of the n-word, words beginning with any other offensive eurocentric consonants, and professors giving “hurtful” grades or homework assignments. Tragically, the police crackdown also likely spells the end of “yo mama” jokes on campus, but you can’t make an omelet without breaking a few eggs.
These policies, and others like them, are part of a comprehensive effort to increase the diversity of the faculty and staff of Missouri University which, unconscionably, consisted almost entirely of people who were not insane.
