The number of lights in the boomerang seemed to vary along the path of the object from 5 to 7 according to the witnesses. Some of the witnesses described this formation or object as huge, even up to 1 mile in span. It traveled, according to all witnesses, on a trajectory from Northwest to Southeast. It traveled at slow velocity along most of its course with one exception where it seemed to accelerate quickly.
Its altitude was estimated to be below 5,000 feet. We know this is simply an estimate as it is difficult to determine the altitude of a flying object in the night sky. The witnesses agreed they could hear no sound emanating from the boomerang.
In March 2007, former Arizona Governor Fife Symington III said that he had witnessed one of the “crafts of unknown origin” during the 1997 event, but noted that he didn’t go public with the information.Shortly after the lights, Symington held a press conference, stating that “they found who was responsible”. However, he quickly changed his mind. In an interview with The Daily Courier in Prescott, Symington said:
‘I’m a pilot and I know just about every machine that flies. It was bigger than anything that I’ve ever seen. It remains a great mystery. Other people saw it, responsible people. I don’t know why people would ridicule it.’

It was swamp gas. It also could have been the reflection of Venus off the Heliosphere. Or a mirage of a military maneuver taking place somewhere out in the Pacific that somehow occurred without the Sun.
Or it was a mass delusion. It also could have been military helicopters flying in formation using stealth technology which muffles sound. It could have been a particular atmospheric phenomenon which reflects traffic lights from a relatively low altitude giving the impression of a flying craft.
Or it could have been an alien reconnaissance craft.
Or it could have been demons from hell dressed up like aliens from outer space.

Of course the poor quality of the film would be supportive of space aliens, they have devices that make all films of their activities be out of focus and grainy.

There really is nothing to fear as we have nothing they want, except to study us. All life is fascinating to them.
We should also hope that they will actively intervene should we decide to do something stupid of Biblical proportions.

Even “our” galaxy is rather large. Add in all the members of the Local Group and the star count rockets.
It always amuses me to see how insular we still are, despite the evidence that “life” does not “have” to be “as we know it”. We (read NASA) really DO need to lose the blinkers, and realise that alien biochemistry WILL be different from ours, and the “need” for a water-dependent environment may not be that “universal”.
If we spent as much time and effort (= money) on seriously (and openly) investigating unexplained sightings, as we spend of “debunking” them, we may have learned considerably more re. our place in our corner of just our own galaxy.
Wonder why these “Aliens” are so secretive? Just look at our film / t.v. history – which “they” will no doubt have observed too – War of the Worlds, Aliens, Independence Day – the list goes on – all depicting “Aliens” as bad. If YOU were a spacefaring species would YOU wish to visit a planet populated by xenophobic, nuclear armed, warlike individuals, who cannot even live in peace amongst themselves?
“Avoid them like the plague – they would be a real problem if they got out” comes to mind.

1,000’s of people in the Phoenix area saw this UFO. It remains unexplained. Others have seen similar-sized (huge) objects in the sky, including a Japan air freighter, capt & copilot over Alaska in 11/1986. The objects look and perform exactly like ‘Chinese sky lanterns’ which are quite popular here in Asia. I believe sky lanterns are illegal in amerika (like so many other things), but it is possible to hand make them with readily available materials, intelligence, and patience.
