Many countries are ahead of us in murders, but you can always do a selective list I guess if the facts aren’t suitable for your purposes.

AC ,that was a Damn good video. I didn’t know we were that far down on the list.He didn’t mention that gun violence is mostly black gun violence committed by black criminals fighting over drugs.
Chicago’s murder RATE (not the same thing as sheer number of murders), is nowhere near that of the cities you are placing it beside, such as New Orleans, Baltimore, Detroit, or St Louis.
No comparison, really.
Don’t confuse the number of murders with the rate per 100,000, which is what gives you a true picture of a city’s level of public safety.
Here are the cities and their homicide rates
Chicago 16.4 per 100,000
Cities that are far more dangerous:
Baltimore, MD 43.3 per 100,000
Detroit , MI 47.3 per 100,000
St Louis, Mo 37. 2 per 100,000
New Orleans, LA 37.6 per 100,000
Washington, D.C. 29.1 per 100,000
Birmingham, AL 44.5 per 100,000
Atlanta, GA 22 per 100,000
Memphis, TN 21.6 per 100,000
Philadelphia, PA 27.7 per 100,000
Jackson, MS 22 per 100,000 ( not large, just the largest city in that state)
Cities that are about the same:
Miami, FL 19 per 100,000 (much improved in recent years)
Cities that are safer:
Los Angeles, CA 12.4 per 100,000
San Francisco, CA 11 per 100,000
Seattle, WA 5 per 100,000
Portland, OR -safest of them all and is a GORGEOUS place- 3.7 per 100,000
All in all, it appears to me that demographics have more to do with a city’s level of public safety, than political affiliation. In fact, demographics probably tell the whole story.

While black males constitute just 6% of the overall US population, they account for 52% of all homicides and 73% of all armed robberies. These statistics were taken from the 2013 FBI community crime & statistics report.

Similar concept to the homicide rate among whites in the USA is similar to Europe in spite of the guns and that educational achievement by race in the USA is similar to achievements in similar countries elsewhere as in whites in the USA do as well as whites in Europe, Asians as well as Asians in Asia etc.

Admin, I sure won’t argue with you when it comes to the destructiveness of Dem leadership, yet Seattle, Portland, and San Fran are also Dem- led, and do not have the horrific rates of violence almost every other city has, and I have to attribute the difference to demographics.
However, I agree with you regarding the overall destructiveness of Dem policies, as these three cities are suffering from Dem leadership in other ways. Their high taxes and nanny-state restrictions and regulations have made them outrageously expensive and difficult to live in.

Actually, if the white people had stayed in Detroit, the rate would be lower, because the extremely low rates of white violence would be averaged in with the steep rate of black violence. Cities with more moderate murder rates, such as Chicago and Los Angeles, for example, still have large populations of whites, while those with super-high homicide rates are black majority.
